Haans Bakery — Restaurant in Greenville

Upon visiting today I’m highly unimpressed. I come from mid state where we have a amazing German bakery/deli called marv’s. So I was looking for something that might be similar due to me moving up here recently. I saw haans and know the name is of Dutch orgin. Anyway the shelves were pretty bare. They said it’s Fat Tuesday we have paczki’s. That’s cool and somewhat understandable I suppose. Michigan has some of the dumbest holidays, but you’d think being a “bakery” you’d have a wide variety ready when the door opens for all customers. Let me tell you the paczki’s taste like gas station donuts along with the apple fritter I had. Meijers has a better selection of donuts and paczki’s for cheaper at that. I don’t understand where all the 5 star reviews are coming from. Even if they have the best customer service that only goes so far.

Their pastries are super good(out of this world delicious), but they no longer serve doughnuts and the girl behind the counter is Rude!!!!…Like what does it matter how much sugar I put in my coffee???….I literally had to bang the sugar container on the counter to get the tiny itty bitty little bit of sugar there was left in the container out….all because she didn’t wanna go refill it….Then for her to stand there and tell me that it was a lot of sugar I put in my coffee….I thought…Hasn’t she been to other bakeries/coffee houses before( I always thought the two go hand in hand)??? I even told her I was a creamer& sugar with a little bit of coffee person….So weird!!!! I dont understand any of the bad reviews. The cherry rosebud I had here was hands down one of if not the best donut I have ever had and I lived accross from a bakery for years. Granted this place is quaint, selection is minimal but execution was wonderful. I came in on a Wednesday around 930 and had the place to myself.
