Mario's Pizza — Restaurant in Greenville

Food was really delicious, unique and worth every bit of inconvenience of wait. But.. We got cheesy bread sticks that were a little hard, but tasted well. The marinara was very fresh and tasty. We ordered an all meat deep pan pizza. Best pizza I had in a long time. The reason for the three stars is that we were there over an hour before we got our pizza. Two other tables were served pizzas before us. Our saving grace was a sweet lady in a blue tee shirt who tried to give us updates and friendly check ins when our waitress disappeared. My husband left the place in a hungry frustration. I stayed because I was with my daughter and I can't just have her go hungry. Was a bummer because it made the long drive even worse because it was getting dark as we left....

What a great find while traveling along highway 70! We had to drive into town but the detour was well worth it! Small little town operated pizza shop with an authentic heritage. The bread sticks and pizza was all excellent in taste and quality. Pizza is easy but truly well made dough and perfectly seasoned fresh sauce is not always easy to find. This place has it covered! Seeing Mario himself (assuming) well up there in age still hands-on and making fresh dough was a delight and gave me my first clue as to what was to come! Absolutely the best pizza you can get in our area! We have lived in Mulberry Grove for 6 months now and have tried to get over there so many times, tonight we finally went and... WE'LL NEVER GET PIZZA ANYWHERE ELSE!!! Mario's was authentic pizza with fresh ingredients and a sauce that was the perfect balance of tomato and spices/seasonings.
