Let me start by saying my family & I have been coming here for 7+ years the last few times we have been the most horrible. We've celebrated everything from birthdays, anniversaries, valentines day etc with sakura. The last 2 or 3 times we've been we have experienced RACISM!!!! I WILL say that it's not from everybody but this one male waiter he is always rude with BLACK CUSTOMERS especially if its a big crowd of US!! Tonight we went for my daughters birthday, we had a group of 14 and reserved for 6:30 !! We get there and get seated and another big group is behind us (white group) celebrating a birthday also. First they put us in the back away from everybody then sat the white family in the middle 10 mins. after us. Then HE(the racist waiter) took their drink orders and got them salad and soup and we hadn't even gotten our drinks ordered yet, so I kindly walk up to ask him is he going to serve us he replied with an attitude like he always has " Yes, are Yall ready now" I said yes we've been ready. Mind you they won't seat you if everyone is not there. I didn't get rude back, just kindly sat down and waited 15 more minutes and still nothing!! So we called another restaurant that would be happy to serve us and I plan on speaking to manager tomorrow morning because we've made so many memories there and were very disappointed!! That one waiter is nothing less than RACIST TO BLACKS AND NEEDS A REALITY CHECK (putting this mildly)!!!!!! Now we're here at Kampai of Tokyo where its desegregated and they accepts PEOPLE OF COLOR!!!

We made reservations and still had to wait over an hour and they let several people go ahead of us that didn't have reservations. I understand that they have know way of knowing how long it will take someone to eat but letting people ahead of someone with reservations was annoying to me. Our waiter wasn't friendly at all and this is the 3rd or 4th time we've had him. The cooks are great, they are about the only good thing about the place because they are so friendly. The food is just okay. They need to work on their customer service skills though. Our table ended up leaving later because they sat us so late and we were there for my daughter's birthday, so we pad birthday cake and they didn't like that because we ended up catching some stares from some of the staff. They didn't even sing happy birthday and they knew we were there for a birthday dinner. For the prices they charge, they most definitely need to do better!!!!

She was still very nice! Then the bartender, who was also serving tables, came over and I ordered a glass of wine from the menu. She told me they didn’t have that wine but they were pouring another. I chose a different wine. I placed my order for hibachi and decided to treat myself with chicken and filet. It was a to go order so my expectations weren’t high. The hibachi was great. The soup and salad were a little sad. When you pay $27 alone for a hibachi meal, you expect to get an actual miso soup and maybe a couple more pieces of lettuce. Overall, the atmosphere was great! The service was pretty good too. I would definitely go back but I wouldn’t order the Hibachi meal to go again.

Please do not come here. Respectfully, it is not worth it at all. My mom, aunt & I went out to eat with some good friends to celebrate a birthday. When we came in it was very tight, & they told us that we all may not be able to sit together. I understand that 15+ people are a lot to handle, but mind you, there was enough seats for all of us to sit. The owner, I think, was very rushed and all over the place. After 15 minutes of waiting, we all finally got seated. Everything was going well, until our waitress came. Our waitress came, & didn't even say hello. Our waitress kept rolling her eyes at almost everything we ordered. Everybody was looking at each other due to her messed up attitude. She also repeatedly rushed us & saying that we needed to hurry up, order & get out because they were closing. My thing is, if you were closing, why would you sit us at a table, and secondly, why are you rushing us? I think this place is racist as well, & here's why I think this. BTW, my mom, my aunt, and I are black, as well as everyone at our table. Mind you, there was 2 tables full of white people. The people were laughing and everything, while she (our waitress) gave us a nasty attitude & the white people didn't seem like they were being rushed at all. My aunt finally said something. The waitress tried to explain, but got angry & stormed off. She was just being very unprofessional. This time the owner came, & he basically was just telling us the same thing. How we needed to hurry up, order & leave. This time he didn't even take half of our order! He got my order wrong & mixed it up with shrimp instead of chicken. My mom had already told him that I was allergic to shrimp. I could of ate something I was allergic to & could've had an allergic reaction! Then a waitor came. He was nice, but he said something racist, & I don't think he noticed it. He called one of my mom's friend "Shaynaynay." A ghetto name often used for black women. Mind you, all the good reviews are, from what I've seen, are white people. Please do not come to this resturant, especially if you are a person of color. Very bad customer service & underlined racism, & that's not something me or my family will tolerate. Will never...

Find a different sushi restaurant. We waited 20 minutes for a table when there were MULTIPLE open. We weren’t even waiting on hibachi. We then waited 10 minutes for the server (GINA) to come to us - at this point we gave her our food + drink order. I ordered a Gary roll - not deep fried due to a gluten allergy. I have been to MANY sushi restaurants & have gotten tuna rolls that have FRESH tuna inside. This was not the case. It literally looks like raw hamburger meat inside my roll. When Gina returned to the table I explained I could not eat this & stated I would just take the check. She brought the check & it had the sushi roll on it. I told her I wasn’t expecting to pay for it due to the fact I didn’t eat any of it & I had expressed my disappointment in it. She stated it was my order since I didn’t get it deep fried it was my fault & she was charging me for it. I asked for a manager - she left me sitting for a while & I had to ask another employee for the manager. They then informed us that they do not have managers but I could wait for the owners who would be there in an hour - an hour before closing. I recognized the bar tender (EDEN) who I thought was the manager because she’s always fantastic when we come in. Mind you, I’ve been here MULTIPLE TIMES & it’s never been the experience I’ve had today. Eden came to the table & took care of my check since Gina has decided she was done with the situation. I will not be back. Irashi now has a loyal sushi customer… thanks Gina!

**I also only got my water refilled once during our hour sit @ the table - I also got soup & a kani salad… this was not the only thing...
