The Caracas Lion — Restaurant in Greenville

I crave this shawarma and it’s only been my second visit! Last week, I had the chicken/beef mix. Also delicious, but in retrospect, taking my order to go was my mistake. Eat there. This “Heaven in Foil” can be messy with all the fillings, and I wouldn’t ask to leave anything out. Eat at the picnic tables on site. The very kind proprietor will make sure you have napkins.

If you’re a picky eater, try the chicken pastelitos: tenderly seasoned white meat in flaky pastry. The garlicky sauce included is a must-have.

I ordered the mixed meat shawarma, meat pastelito, and 3 piece falafel. The shawarma was packed with flavor and warm spices. The portion was much bigger than I anticipated, so sides are really not necessary. The falafel was a little drier than I prefer, but the flavor was really good!
