I placed my order at 1:39, it gave me an estimated delivery time of 2:35, but was delivered at 1:50. I ordered the 10 pc tenders family meal deal with biscuits, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes and gravy. I also ordered a breaded chicken sandwich, side of potato wedges, deep fried oreos and deep fried brownie bites.
The chicken sandwich was small, but what you would expect for $3.50. I ordered the deluxe with lettuce, tomato, pickle and mayo, and expected everything to be put together, but instead received the condiments and sides in a small ziploc bag. A little weird, but the sandwich tasted great.
The potato wedges were quite large, and cooked perfectly, but unseasoned and bland in taste.
The macaroni could have been better. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't good either.
The mashed potatoes and gravy come in a container together (with the gravy on top). I'm not sure what kind of gravy it was, but it wasn't the dark brown that I'm used to. Even still, it was very delicious.
The biscuits were small and a little dry. They had a honey glaze on top and a great buttery taste.
The deep fried oreos were only okay, but I'm not a huge fan of oreos. The brownies were amazing! They had a great crunch on the outside and then the soft brownie on the inside.
The hero of this meal was the chicken, however. The chicken had a great crunch, but was still soft. They were perfectly flavored and cooked and juicy on the inside. I would compare them to something you can buy in a store, though, like Tyson's chicken tenders.
So, overall, not completely terrible, but not awful either. For the price, I doubt I would order the meal deal, considering that the sides weren't the greatest...
Read moreI'm new to the Indy/Greenwood so my co workers have taken it upon themselves to show me all the best hole in the wall places in the area because i brag about the food joints back where im from and heck who wants drive thru if you dont have to? We've been doing this for a couple months now so we've been to more than a few to say the least. I wish that this would have been the first restraunt they showed me so I could have been eating here this whole time while i check out everywhere else. I honestly cant say Btown has a real chicken place like Sunnys. If you are reading this because you just happened here from a search and you want friend chicken this is a no brainer get chicken from here. I can safely say, unless its your family member that makes your favorite fried chicken you arent going to better than here. Heck this is better than your family members The chicken is amazing and you'll swear it free ranged in the 100 acre woods its more tender than christopher robbin leaving the woods. Screw the colonel herbs and spices, popeyes too. Sunnys seasoning and breading puts any of the other ones in the search...
Read moreI had read the reviews of this place and decided to give it a try as compared to the usual fast food chicken places. The reviews were promising. However, after trying the meal, I was very disappointed. Starting with the chicken, it was overcooked and dry. The breading was so hard I had to remove it before I could finish it. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant and there was barely enough gravy to fill a spoon, (which was sad as it was quite good). The onion pedals were more like onion skin pedals, (almost couldn't even tell it was onions at all). The chicken livers, ( which was what seemed to be the best item, based on the reviews I read) were very disappointing. Out of the order, there were a couple of nice sized livers, (which were very tasty), but the rest of the order seemed as if it was what was left over in the fryer after a long day. The biscuits were hard and tasted burned. The only thing that was impressive was the fried okra which was very favorable and nice size pieces of okra. All in all, a very...
