This is one of our favorite places to grab dinner from, truly, but we have found a bit of inconsistency in some of the things that we order regularly. The kheer, is usually so delicious and vibrant and full of flavor, but tonight, it tasted like a simple, VERY mildly flavored rice pudding. Like something we could buy at a store. Still enjoyable, but we got it because we wanted that AMAZING cardamon flavor it normally has and it just didn't. Then there's the raita, which is personally my ABSOLUTE #1 FAVORITE thing on the menu. I quite literally couldn't eat it because for some reason it was spicy, and I mean, make my forehead sweat, spicy. I've never had that with raita, at any restaurant, ever. It even had a bit of a like an orange-ish color with orange specs to it (photo included) where it's usually just white with the green of the cilantro in it. So I was extremely disappointed that I spent money for something that just had to get tossed because I'm the only one that would have eaten it and with whatever spice is in it, it was inedible for me. Our Paneer Tikka Masala was SOOOOOO good, as always, and we also tried something we hadn't before, Saag Paneer, which we both thought was FANTASTIC. We do love this, and will continue to patronize them, but hopefully we won't find these inconsistencies again because if we do, for sure those will be items we...
Read moreThis place is amazing. I haven’t been able to find good Indian food in a while. Here is a description of what I had. Vegetable korma: Spice level three. It may make your nose run and give you a slight cough which is perfect but not so much as to be left behind like a spicy pepper would do to you. The red potatoes are cooked perfectly definitely curry and smoky cumin and other spices. The lentils are not overdone which means they are still firm. The rice is very long grain cooked with what looks to be saffron. Definitely very freshly cooked. The green beans are a little mushy however, they don’t fall apart. The cauliflower is cooked perfectly very tender yet, It has a slight crunch to it. The carrots are perfect no crunch, but you do have to chew them.
This is a very good dish and will fill you up leaving you full but not uncomfortable or you may have leftovers depending on...
Read moreI doordashed out of curiosity and to feed my craving of Indian food. I ordered Lamb Curry, Vegetable Samosa, extra Basmati Rice, and Gulab Jamun for dessert. I had always had a love of curry and the lamb didn't disappoint so tasty with the perfect amount of spice and soft fresh meat I was blown away. Next for the Vegetable Samosa I had never tried anything outside of curry and basmati rice before, so I was curious to try new food products and let me state if a glazed doughnut and egg roll had a baby that would make a Vegetable Samosa mildly sweet and nutritious. The rice was freshly done no complaints there. Last but not least the desert Gulab Jamun it was devilishly sweet and satisfying like a glourious conclusion to a wonderful, satisfying meal. I highly recommend if you love Indian food or are curious to try it and are in the Portland...
