Neo Cafe — Restaurant in Gresham

I recently visited Neo Coffee and was blown away by the quality of both the coffee and the service. I had the Ube latte, and it was easily one of the best coffees I've ever had! The perfect amount of sweetness, paired with the subtle yet distinct flavor of ube, made for an incredibly balanced and flavorful drink. I also tried the blackberry donut, which was hands down the best donut I've ever tasted.

The shop itself has a great vibe, from the stylish decor and comfortable furnishings to the friendly atmosphere created by the owner, Sam. He took the time to not only take my order but also engage in a genuine conversation, even asking my name. It's rare to experience such personal and attentive customer service.

Neo Coffee also sells coffee beans, and Sam kindly suggested I sample some of the varieties they use in-house. I've visited twice now and I'm absolutely hooked! These donuts are the stuff of dreams, and the service is friendly and accommodating. My favorite (made-to-order) donut is either the salted honey, or the maple whipped cream, with the blueberry earl grey coming in closely behind. The lemon curd was a bit more sour than I was expecting, but it was the only one I would skip. They're fresh, and have the perfect crisp to them when you bite in. What a treat! The coffee specials change seasonally, and are all delicious and creative. If I could offer feedback, it would be around the seating, it's limited as is, and doesn't have enough two-tops to accommodate pairs. There is however additional seating in the adjoining food court. I rarely make the time to write reviews but I feel that I'm overdue and remiss for not sharing my thoughts about Neo, sooner. First and foremost Sam the owner/lead barista is a true gem of a human being and his incredible coffee and tea creations, in addition to tasty, fresh baked goods, are all beyond description. Secondly, as a Realtor who travels all over our state with clients (and drinks inordinate amounts of coffee everywhere I go), I can genuinely state that Neo has the most exceptional drinks and service in the state of Oregon and possibly the entire Pacific NW.
