I recently decided to try this restaurant that I was told was amazing by friends. I want to first state that I'm easy to please and have tried many Mexican places and they are pretty much all the same with some slight variances. My usual dish is fajitas with shrimp, beef and chicken. At this place the fajitas are offered but they have another main dish called "King Charlie fajitas" which I wasn't sure the difference between them and the normal ones, but they were about $8 more so I wasn't sure what to expect and decided to try them.
I'm spoiled with the food at other places coming out in under 10 minutes at the usual places, but not here. It was a good 20+ minutes before our food arrived. When it did, I was amazed to see I had a whole ear of corn that looked good, but it did not taste good and was barely warm on the side that was on the griddle plate. The meat was also hand sized beef and chicken that was of good thickness, but it was not cut into pieces/strips which is normally how it comes served. This was a challenge to cut up on the same plate as there was little room to do it. Also, the shrimp that was there (only 5) smallish shrimp. I cut up my meat and make my first fajita and as I bite into the first fajita, I was met with a hard scale feeling and realized that they did not remove the hard tail portion of the shrimp, which was also something I never experienced at other places. All of that was a bit disappointing to say the least.
I did not eat the corn and they did take it off the bill. I did tip but not as I would have liked to as it seemed they were very short on staff and the place was packed. The main greeter/waiter was hustling around the place and when called upon did attend our needs, but they obviously had too much to do so it delayed in providing prompt service.
I'm sure this place is good but feel they were understaffed that night, which was a Saturday so probably had a rush, but there were only 2-3 folks to serve everyone, and they all seemed stressed out and rushed.
I wanted to provide my best perspective on this place and hopefully this helps but my experience will not...

First time visiting, wasn't sure what to expect. The service was very good, though there were a few times I may have confused the staff by trying to ask questions - they were all extremely polite, and when we asked for something they were quick to bring it, but not conversationalists. Very much a "I will make myself available if you need anything, but I will not come by to ask you if you need x y z" etc. Honestly I prefer that, and they may have picked up on that 😅
The food. Oh my gosh the food was AMAZING. Broad variety between Mexican and American cuisine. They do have a kids menu!
We weren't needing a full heavy meal, so we ordered 3 apps to share between 2 adults. Y'all. It was three full sized meals. Everything was on point, presentation, flavor, timing etc. Probably the best Mexican I've ever had from an upscale restaurant.
Atmosphere, primarily booths, it isn't a large building, so they've maximized floor space - though it is high backed booths, not much for "privacy" or if you had a large group and needed multiple tables pulled together it would likely be a bit tight - UNLESS there was a seperate seating area I didn't see. I would call ahead to know for sure - the food is so worth it.
Parking: The only "downside" of this location. It's a small lot, I wouldn't bring any large vehicles here if I was coming at a busy time.
They look to have a great outdoor dining area, though it wasn't the right weather for it when we visited. While the interior is very nicely done, if you're someone who prefers open spaces - take the room on the patio.
Would absolutely recommend and I...
