Had my sons 11th birthday party here. Owner was very friendly and treated us very well, he was very laid back and always smiling. His staff was super personable as well and you could tell he genuinely loved his job. Had a party of 17 people. He took care of everyone personally like family. Shakes are amazing and the syrup in them is an old fashioned real sugar syrup from 1,000 miles away, I highly recommend the shakes(they come with a wristband for unlimited all day play in the birthday party package.) Very family friendly environment. All machines were clean and in working order. We ordered pizza from Godafthers in town and it was very good and on time. With the party package we were able to bring in our own cake. The owner let us play in the V.I.P pinball room which included but not limited to a Metallica and my favorite the Aerosmith game. The Aerosmith game plays dif songs as you play like a juke box which encourages you to play more. The old school arcade is a one of a kind place in the state of Iowa. Everything is on free play. Just have to buy a wristband and you can play any of the machines in the main room. Despite what the 1 star review says every machine works. You just have to push player one of player two and the machine with start. If nothing happens when you do that. You just look down on the front of the machine for the credit button that they tell you about when you buy your wristband. The arcade is never cold! It might be a little chilly when they first open up but that is so by the time night hits it won't be a 85 degrees cause the air conditioning can't keep up so you have to start early to keep up. That makes sense! So despite what people like to say negative on a public forum the old school arcade is one of the best places to play retro arcade machines and some state of the art pinball machines! First and foremost my 10 year old son and I had a great time. The games are in good working order. The atmosphere is fun, clean and lively. And... they had my childhood favorite game, Burger Time. It is priced very reasonable and workers are very polite. The Ice cream is awesome. I do have a few critiques though. The games are to close together, both side to side, and in rows. When players are on both sides of the aisle it gets very tight to walk thru. Because of the proximity of people and machines, I thought it was hot inside. The two ceiling fans were on low and should have been cranked up. We visited on a busy Saturday night, I bet during the week it is more manageable. All that said, I do recommend that you check it out. Especially if your a fan of nostalgic games...
