Brine Oyster House, Grosse Pointe Park

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

An afternoon early dinner at Brine Oyster House is an experience I won't soon forget. Nestled in the heart of Grosse Pointe Park, this seafood haven exceeded all expectations.

From the moment we walked in, the ambience felt nothing short of dreamy, wrapping us in a warmth that felt both elegant and intimate. The real stars, however, were the dishes that graced our table. The oysters, oh those oysters! Fresh, succulent, and expertly presented - each bite was a delightful splash of the sea.

Following this, the pot of mussels was a treat, perfectly seasoned and steaming, making for an irresistible dive. But the showstopper for us was the scallop dish. Every piece was seared to perfection, balancing a crispy exterior with a tender, melt-in-your-mouth inside.

To complement the seafood delights, we opted for a white wine, which was recommended by the attentive staff. Its crisp notes and aromatic undertones elevated each dish to new heights.

A special mention to the staff who were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our culinary journey was smooth from start to finish.

All in all, Brine Oyster House is not just a dining spot; it's an experience, a memory, and a story waiting to be shared. If you're in Grosse Pointe Park and have a penchant for fine seafood, do yourself a favor and indulge.

Will be returning without a doubt!

We had a much-anticipated Birthday Brunch date. Nice atmosphere and music, pleasant service; it was a bit surprising that the there was no board or other written info regarding raw bar offerings. Thankfully, our waiter provided us with his list of options, and the Oysters were amazing--perfectly chilled, with a great accompanying mignonette. I recommend mixing & matching for round one, and then another round of your faves. We were very underwhelmed with the brunch menu and stuck with Oysters. Brine would benefit GREATLY if they made a seafood tower available for both the Brunch and Dinner menu; that's a very easy $50-$75 minimum, for many tables, straight in the door!! As an Oyster house, we hoped for more raw bar options. Give us tentacles! Shrimp cocktail! Even at noon!! Their signature Show Stopper complimented the Oysters nicely, my date had an absolutely undrinkable Bloody Mary (no idea what it tasted like, not Vodka, not tomato, but something...acidic and just WEIRD) that was taken off the bill without request, which was nice. All in all, a decent experience. I expect, as with all new restaurants, that they'll work out some kinks and tweak the menus a bit until they find their groove. Seafood tower available for all...

Wonderful experience as the atmosphere & service was fantastic! Love the NOLA vibe & decor & music. Food was mediocre. I am used to New Orleans so this was a disappointment. Sea charcuterie was very good! Shellfish bisque was great. Fries are just ok. Lemon meringue pie was outstanding! Posh Nosh fish sticks were awful. Coconut cream pie was inedible. Cucumber/watermelon salad under seasoned, mushroom side dish not good. Crispy Oyster Roll did not need all that sweet red sauce. Needs a good Mayo & keep it simple….tastes nothing like a NOLA fried oyster sandwhich. Cocktail menu needs work & should include some classic New Orleans cocktails. I will go back many times as I know they will improve the menu & the service was so good! The Vibe is what Grosse Pointe desperately needs. Overall 3 out of 5 stars. Update: went back again & tried multiple other dishes with another couple & eveything was bland, under seasoned & very mediocre. Not sure when they will fix their menu but I hope soon! How about a seafood tower! Take the Posh Nosh fish sticks off as we all agreed they are awful! This place is a gem but food needs to improve to keep the clientele coming back...

📍@Brine Oyster House, Grosse Pointe Park MI Vibe: Brine Oyster House is an oyster bar inspired by and designed after New Orleans French Quarter. The restaurant is beautiful with two levels, a large curved patio, and live music on Fridays & Saturdays. I stopped by for a special Easter Brunch with my mom. 🌸 . . . #BrineOysterHouse #Oysters #MetroDetroit #GrossePointePark #Foodie #Brunch #Detroit #Detroittok #fyp #foodtiktok #DetroitContentCreator #DetroitFoodie

I have been to Brine several times in the past and decided to take a few girlfriends there this weekend after really hyping it up only to find out.... New menu and new chef that have not been advertised or posted online. The new menu was mehhhh. To start, we received cornbread which threw us all off - was this turning into a southern meal or soul food? (the Parker house rolls used to be divine). Also removed from the apps was the oysters&bubbles deal which was a perfect starter. A Caesar was added to the menu (who doesn't love a Caesar?) however, the taste of anchovies was VERY overpowering. Lobster pasta was confusing: oversized noodles wrapped around lump crab(could have made them into ravioli pockets or done larger chunks in a sauce) and left a LOT to be desired. Menu mentioned broccolini and instead we were served green beans without any warning of the change. I am no chef so I am always grateful for the hands cooking but the place was half full at 7pm on a Saturday and I'm not sure this menu will help turn that around.

I was excited to have a night out with my girlfriends but was underwhelmed by Brine. I felt the waitress did not explain the menu well at all despite us trying to ask questions. She also didn’t explain that the appetizer roll was just one roll and not shareable. She did a poor job on checking up on our table and did not explain the oysters or the charcuterie options well. The Oysters are fresh although priced individually. I got the pot roast dish which was okay, but nothing to write home about in the flavor department. The presentation of the food was beautiful and so was the decor in the restaurant but the food and service were lack luster. I didn’t care for the drinks I got either. One was a cucumber drink, which was an odd combination of flavors and the other was a purple drink which was bitter tasting.
