This place is not what you expect. The managers are bullies...holding others responsible for their mistakes. A friend of mine was recently let go because of the supervisor's incompetence. Made to train others without training pay...and effectively fired because of an immeasurably intense workload.

Under the old chef, Michael Keys, she received two pay increases within three months and a guaranteed reference. Every job before this has also given her great references. Under Brian Psenski, her new chef(I use that term loosely because I know real Chefs), day in and day out worked her to the bone. When new hire after new hire left, he just put more on her. Not seeing that her usual itinerary was too intense to train someone in one day. Clearly this is his first time in a leadership position. I would not eat here or even involve myself if you are of African descent. They just look at us as the help to be pushed until we are broken.

I've heard time and time again how her task were increased when he should've stepped up to the plate. She has been dedicating her time and has been a model worker. She's never once been written up. They've changed her schedule repeatedly and she's made it work. Even though they agreed upon a set schedule. She did not complain about the constant verbal abuse, temper tantrums, harassment and overall hostile work environment she went through everyday at his hand. How they didn't thank her one time for the extra efforts she put in to help him maintain things. It sounds to me like a setup to give someone unrealistic expectations. Almost as if he was trying to make her quit.

People fight in there, smell of marijuana and do "no call, no shows"...and she is fired. Maybe he's upset because he had to walk a mile in her shoes yesterday. Highly unprofessional and I'm surprised since it is owned by the Cotton family. Who they themselves have thrown praises her way for creating new recipes for their business. He didn't even give a reason why. Sent her a email on her day off and couldn't even do it face to face. Told her to come up there on her free time 9-1 p.m. to drop off keys. Instead of 3 p.m. when she was designated to work. Clearly something is amiss here. No sort of proper protocol followed whatsoever.

This place obviously loves ignorance in its entirety. They are the epitome of benightness that faces the black community or at least the managers are. I mean a noose was just found down the street and he does this. I'm disgusted at the unprofessionalism I've witnessed and lack of compassion, especially with everything going on in this country right now. I joined the Navy to protect people like him who forget how to be decent human beings. I'm not surprised though. I keep witnessing unjust bigots constantly getting away with crimes against...

Recently they changed their whole menu. Used to be American BBQ I guess, but now it's Mexican food. I'm happy to report my rating has not changed. They have a smaller menu now and if they add to it or switch it up from time to time, I'd probably bump it to a 5. The look of the place hasn't changed very much, so it really doesn't look very Mexican inside or out. But majority of the food and drink we had were top notch.

Food: the barbacoa taco was delicious. They put chili roasted peanuts in it which really makes the flavor pop. The classic taco, which is just meat, lettuce and cheese was really good as well. The difference is they use a crumpled queso cheese, rather than the liquid kind you normally get with chips. I think that made a unique difference and even though it sounds boring, I thought it was great. But the best taco I tried was the chicken chipolte. I'm not even sure what made it so good, it just tasted amazing to me. Also ordered the mushroom taco, which I don't like mushrooms but friend said it was good as well. So 4 out of 4 👍. Ordered chips with salsa verde and guacamole. The guac was really good. My one complaint about the salsa verde is it needed something to spice it up. It was good, I enjoyed it, but it was a bit on the basic side and needed some heat. But I also thought the chips they seved were excellent and crunchy.

Drinks: had the strawberry margarita. It tasted good, I didn't think it was that strong though. Probably wouldn't order it again. But the Diego Daiq was fantastic. Seemed pretty strong to me and tasted delicious.

Unfortunately we didn't order dessert but everyone at the bar area where we sat seemed to order the churro bites and everyone seemed to like them. They looked tasty and I think because so many people ordered them I could smell them as well. Definitely trying those.

I've never had a bad experience with their servers and the two that were working at the bar were both nice, engaging and on their toes at all times.

Price wise, I'd say their tacos are probably about 1.00 more than say Imperial which is who I'd compare them to since the type of tacos are the same.

So my only real complaint is I hope in the future they do make some of their own sauces to accompany their delicious food. They do need very much to bring some hotter sauces to the table. And I'd really like it if they had a specialty taco of the week or something like that. The menu is limited.

First review, have been there many times since then: Just a cool spot to hang and chill. Only have had appetizers but they have a good menu. Looking forward to...

First, I love barbeque. After a couple of very disappointing visits a few years ago, I convince my wife to try Red Crown again. Bottom line: Don't waste your time or money.

We sat at the bar. My wife ordered the burger, medium to medium well. I ordered a half slab of the St. Louis ribs.

My wife's burger was raw inside; not pink inside, but bright red through and through. When the bartender asked about our meals, we told him the burger was undercooked. He set the burger down behind the bar, and helped 2 other customers before bringing it back to the kitchen. They re-fired the same burger (instead of cooking a new one), and guess what? When he brought it back, it was still bright red inside.

Worse yet, when I asked the bartender if "we" could have some water, he brought a glass of water for me. Seriously? Is my wife invisible?

The ribs: Tough. Had difficulty cutting them with a knife. Ate three ribs, and when I moved to the fourth, I discovered it was more fat than meat.

If you can't cook a burger, you don't belong in a kitchen. The owner should send the entire back of the house to City Kitchen for cooking lessons. It's primarily a seafood place, but their ribs and burgers are cooked to perfection.

Even if it's the last restaurant to remain open in Grosse Pointe, I will never, ever go back. I didn't even want to give...
