I've been here a couple of times in the past two months (4/13-6/13), both times I've had similar experiences. Yes, the people are nice, but unless you're ordering directly off the menu, I've found it hard to get custom combination plates ordered. In my opinion, I would like to get a dinner plate with half orders of two entrees, even if I'm paying whole price for the more expensive of the two. Wait time was expected, 7-12 minutes, not problem there. Now the food. I don't know if the people in the kitchen are aware of the food that is being dished out, but it has yet to be a pleasant experience for me. Sure, the food I received is the food I ordered, but not in many ways the food I expected. There is no pizzazz, or passion, or to say the least desire to please the guest. Like I said, I got what I ordered, but at what cost? The rice was the best part, so that's saying something, but the meats and egg rolls seem like they were reheated or frozen and warmed instantly. There is no desire for me to eat here again, and I guess I would also like to state that I don't consider myself a food snob, but for the 10-15 bucks I spent there, I would rather get a decent sandwich and pop across the street at the Red Crown. Ethnic food in a dominantly white neighborhood is always a welcoming endeavor, but crappy ethnic food is, to say the least, a poor experience. I hope the food gets better, and the cooking staff chooses to stop cutting corners. If I hear good reviews in the future, I'll stop by again, but until then, best of luck...
Read moreI agree with the low ratings. The food was simply not appetizing. The pan fried dumplings were reminiscent of corn tortillas in appearance and taste. I’m not sure if it was supposed to be pork dumplings. If so, the texture was tough and color was dark for pork. The spring rolls were decent-just a little too oily for my taste but definitely the best thing I ordered. The orange chicken looked good but the sauce was bland. I think chicken itself was prepared well. The remnants of the sauce resembled the color of curry after a while. I gave 4 stars for service because I was greeted and my order was ready when I arrived. The restaurant itself looks like what I’d expect from the area—I would just add it could use some...
Read moreI recently visited Summer Palace Asian Cuisine and tried their hot and sour soup, and it was a delightful experience. The soup was a beautiful blend of shaved carrots, green onions, egg whites, and mushrooms, creating a vibrant and refreshing profile. The crushed red pepper flakes added a perfect kick that balanced the flavors beautifully.
The inclusion of tofu was a pleasant surprise, providing not only a great source of protein but also a wonderful texture that complemented the other ingredients. Overall, this dish was both comforting and satisfying—a fantastic choice for anyone seeking authentic Asian flavors. Highly...
