Under new management, but same great taste. I'm from California, where Thai food is a dime a dozen. This spot, I have returned to everytime I am here in Groton visiting. When we land, to the day of our flight - always a must to visit for lunch. EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING, is good. You cannot go wrong with anything from the menu. Fried Calamari is so good, fresh, not stringy. The curries are real flavorful. Satays are always awesome. They are very accomodating with the spice levels too, so pick your battles! On weekdays, there are tons of people ordering to-go, as well as the General Dynamics facility - so you know I'm not the only one who loves this place. TRUST, this is a good Thai spot. Dont forget that Thai tea with boba! Shout out to Toon (forgive me, I probably spelled her name wrong) for always taking care of us whenever we visit!

I used to live in the area and got Friendly Thai religiously. It was the best Thai food I’ve had, and ever since moving away I’ve missed it. Stopped by yesterday (8/9) to get take out (so sad there’s no more dine in but so glad it’s still open and thriving!) and was a bit disappointed. I got the spicy basil fried rice with chicken. The rice was VERY mushy. The flavor was amazing and tasted the same as I remember. It must’ve been an off night (I hope!) but it was sad to experience that for the one time I was back in town!

I could live off this place. Best Thai food I have ever had. I love spice and they have plenty of it. For those that do can't stand the heat, fear not because they can vary the spiciness with ease. They do take out which is convenient and the inside of the restaurant is nice and is never too crowded. Parking is on the street which isn't too big of a deal since like I said it doesn't get too crowded inside.

My family has gone here a few times, and I really like their pad thai, but we won't be returning again after our experience last week. I've never received such terrible service. There were three of us and we went in for dinner and were the only people in the restaurant. The food came out quickly, which was appreciated, and the pad thai was just as good as it usually is, but our waitress was a joke. Not once did she offer to refill our waters, or pay any attention to us at all. We brought a bottle of wine with us because it's a BYOB place, but she never offered to get us some wine glasses; we had to sit and wait for 20 minutes before grabbing her and asking if we could have some. Even when she brought them, she didn't bother to bring us a corkscrew, so we had to sit and wait another 20 minutes before grabbing her again and asking her for one. She kept disappearing into the back for long stretches of time, was obviously not at all concerned about us after she brought out our food. By the time we were able to open the wine, we'd already finished our food at that point. She brought the check and we were just desperate to get out of there at that point, but then we had to sit and wait AGAIN for what seemed like forever before my dad was essentially to the point of chasing her down, grabbing her, and thrusting his credit card into her hand just so we could freaking leave. And again, there was not one other customer in the place at that point, and it's not like they were swamped with takeout orders. I don't know why she kept disappearing into the back and ignoring us, but we were so turned off by the whole experience that we won't...

Just passing through Groton with a short visit. Found Friendly Thai on google search and reviewed menu options. Normally a hole in the wall description denotes some easily overlooked establishment tucked between two others in a less than desirable location. Yet people go there in droves because of the food. This lost gem is located in a neighborhood within a converted home. Nicely done. I had the mango curry and Summertime rolls. Thai spice level 2 left my lips with the lingering warmth that keep the experience alive for 30 after leaving. Lol, off to find ice cream. Each of the staff, that I interacted with embody the Friendly of friendliness. If you are like me and base your tip of service, my ice water never went below half a glass. Just an overall pleasant dining experience! Military 15%...
