Let me start by saying the staff is very polite, Authentic, and polite. The Tacos, "Pastor are amazing!" and the steak Tacos are really soft and amazing. Try the green salsa, not too spicy but just the right amount of spice but you will be able taste the flavor of the meat/chicken/pork/vegetables and fresh cilantro. The rest of the people had in my table had the burritos. One was a Chicken burrito with Pinto refried beans, white Mexican cheese, fresh cilantro, onions, lettuce and tomatoes, with a fair amount of grilled chicken in cubes but well seasoned all wrapped in a huge flour burrito. The other person had a Veggie burrito, inside the burrito is had pinto refried beans, Fresh cilantro, onions, lettuce and tomatoes but Once again I cannot express how much, "you have to put the green sauce" you will not regret it. The older gentleman with the mustache inside the dining area was so polite and had the warmest smile and very positive and inviting demeanor that reminding you of a grandfather that honestly wants you to enjoy your stay while eating in his house. I will definitely rate this hidden gem a perfect 10. This food truck with its convenient small building next to it has all the potential to be much more and a proper restaurant but like I have always said, "If it is not broken, do not fix it" I highly recommend this place to everyone. "By the way" this building has many huge fans inside the building that keeps this small building cool but no A.C. but to be honest, the way this food tastes, you will literally eat fast and will most likely go back and order more. "That older gentlemen I was talking about before is very kind and cleaned up after every table after one leaves and puts a roll of napkins, red and green sauce and Tapatio hot sauce on your table" and once you order your drinks the fridge is inside the building in a huge glass front door fridge. Honestly this was an authentic Mexican experience. Thank you guys for awesome food and the experience. I highly recommend this place...
Read moreTacos de Don Ramon has some REALLY good tacos that easily stand out even amongst so many other good taco places in Groveland, Clermont and Mascotte. I’ve been here many times and I always leave very satisfied. It’s by no means fancy, but it doesn’t try to be. They have a food truck as well as a garage that they converted into a place with seating so you can have your food fresh right when they call your name.
It may sound weird, especially to someone who didn’t have tacos all the time growing up, but TRY the lengua and cabeza tacos. If you can get past the “weird” factor of these tacos (which they really aren’t weird at all, it’s just that some people are too sheltered and raised in a way to think that tongue and head are “inedible” when in reality they’re the best part) I promise you these tacos are the best they offer here. They’re far juicier than standard beef or even chicken tacos, and I just love them so much. Also, as an aside, don’t try things other than the tacos - every time I do get them (sopes, etc.) I always still think the tacos are better. You can try the spicy pork al pastor tacos as well; they’re pretty good - I honestly would skip the asada and chicken tacos though.
Tacos de Don Ramon has pretty small tacos, so plan to have 4 minimum if you’re not too hungry, and probably 6 if you’re hungry - they also have Mexican sodas and water if you need that as well. They take credit card as well as cash, and they have a bathroom in the garage portion too (so don’t worry if you get your hands messy).
Be sure to ask for all the toppings - onion, cilantro, etc. and also try out the green avocado sauce they keep in their refrigerator! You’ll see a small white fridge in the garage when you sit down. This sauce makes the tacos taste SO much better! All in all, I’ll keep returning again and again. This place is the best! Can’t wait to have...
Read moreI love this place. Pros One of my top 5 eateries and number one for Mexican cuisine. I wish that it would become a restaurant and not just a food truck. Cons They are running out of product (shrimp). I wanted 3 supreme shrimp burritos. I could only order one, and it had less shrimp than it normally has. If it is going to continue to be a food truck, at least get an air conditioner unit for your employees. They are in the elements while at work. The heat in Florida and rain storms are ridiculous for anyone who has to work in those conditions, who are not being a construction or an outside vendor. They looked hot and uncomfortable. They service was excellent, and they did apologize for not having all the ingredients needed to fill our original order. You have to watch the gentlemen who work there because they will overcharge you if you are not paying attention. They have done this to me more than once. Be sure to have your receipt emailed to you. Check it before you leave. Why are the drinks $3? I just go down the street to the Dollar Tree. I would eat there more often but they have increased their prices. So I am there now, maybe once every 2...
