Dune Side Deli — Restaurant in Grover Beach

My husband bought us sandwiches yesterday and I have to say that was THE best sandwich I have had (that I didn't make). I had the turkey and avocado club sandwich. Wow be prepared for a huge, meaty sandwich! The bread was homemade, toasted and very good! It was the size of sourdough bread! OMG! Be prepared to eat a sandwich that doesn't skimp on the meat! Lots of fresh borehead meat with cheddar cheese melted onto the toast. I had purple onions, lettuce and tomato and could barely take a bite it was SO THICK! And don't forget the fresh avocado which was like a THICK spread! It was really a great sandwich. My son had tuna, lettuce and tomato on the same bread. My husband had a 3 meat sandwich that was also huge! I highly recommend the Dune Side Deli to anyone who wants eat a REAL sandwich. Thankfully it is super close! And thank YOU Dune Side for opening this wonderful little sandwich shop in Oceano. It is conveniently located right next to Central Market so there is plenty of off-street parking. So Tyler was amazing and while he was busy cleaning one of his co workers decided to scold him. Now this man with his cool gold chain and mustache felt the need to belittle him in front of customers. Then proceeded to complain about the coffee machine and promptly sat down to browse his phone.

Now besides the obvious, Tyler was incredibly helpful and even continued his work without complaint. What my problem here is the poor leadership or just plain courtesy to do this the right way.

Attack the problem not the person, we all have to multitask in our jobs. Doesn't mean to start singleing people out for minor things. I was happy to wait and it was already 6:00 p.m. which is their closing time. Tyler was nice enough to let me make my order of just as tuna sandwich and be on my way. I think it's important to showcase real leadership and leaders don't put down the people they work with or the people that work for them. This immediately made the atmosphere awkward and uncomfortable and well,...

This is a fantastic deli and this kind of spot was sorely needed in Five Cities area. All the food is handmade to order and so fresh. The space itself is really nice and even has outdoor seating, they have a nice collection of local beer on tap and wines by the glass. Did not have dessert but the pastries looked fresh & beautiful.

We visited to get to go orders at lunchtime on a Monday and they were slammed...a good sign! The staff were crushing it. They managed to stay friendly, efficient and accurate under stress. We both ordered the Italian Trio and it was delicious. The arugula and finely chopped peppers and tomatoes were the perfect contrast to the deli meats (mortadella was out of this world). The roll was perfect, firm enough to keep its integrity yet soft enough for easy eating.
