I went last week and about 2 weeks before that. On both occasions we’ve been attended by the same person and she is great. We tried to go yesterday but didn’t realize they close for about an hour or so -arrived at 15:45 but the kitchen was closing till 17:00.
The first time we had: bruschetta arugula salad (good) ravioli calabaza (good) filet mignon /filetto (superb) drinks (some gin we hadn’t previously tried; good) a wine bottle they didn’t have truffles available (there is a section of their menu that was unavailable) desserts: affogato caffe and a cheesecake iirc (good)
On our second visit (last week) we had: Caesar salad (good) (note that the dressing has anchovies and the plate is served with bacon here, also they really go all out with the cheese which we loved) Greek dip (good; the tapenade was saltier but the hummus was really nice; ditto for the pita) filet mignon again (awesome) pizzetta (we didn’t like) bruschetta coffee affogato and cheesecake again (awesome)
It appears that everything is prepared in-situ. We appreciated that. Even the stuff we didn’t like has our respect because it was apparently done from scratch and there were no half measures (they fully committed to whatever their goal was) such that ultimately nothing was mediocre.
Everything was tasty and prepared well. The service was amazing.
My favorite dish is the beef because it is not salty at all whilst being tasty. It has a light demi-glace (or something like that, I’m not entirely sure what it is) that is slightly sweet but super subtle. It is served with potatoes and a rosemary garnish iirc.
Well, it is so good that I went two times and tried to go a third! Beware: it is large.
For the first visit, we didn’t have a reservation. We did for the second visit. For what would have been the third we also didn’t have a reservation. It probably is wise to have a reservation as the restaurant filled on both occasions.
We sat inside (a/c) on both occasions. On the second visit we arrived a bit early because of a confusion on my part (I thought we were scheduled for 18:30 but we were actually scheduled for 19:00) and, consequently, we sat a bit on one of outdoor tables and had drinks. Depending on how warm and humid the day is, sitting outside might...
Read moreFirst, let's talk about the new design. The remodeling is a more modern design with classy elements and an amazing floor, every picture is just beautiful. The services are awesome, even though they were full, the staff took care of us in a proper manner and was very friendly with great recommendations.
The food is so delicious, especially because is more Italian traditional and not so heavily salty as Puerto Rican food, is light to digest with great portions and a nice presentation. Also, the price point is great, especially lately, I have breakfast in other places not so good and I ended up paying more than here.
The burrata is a must, they bring it weekly straight from Italy and as a former resident of Italy, I have to say it is the best dish to order as a starter. You can tell the owner is Italian, the entire atmosphere is like being in Italy, and you feel the love for everything they do and serve.
Thank you for an amazing dinner party, and the positive eating experiences. We loved it and we...
Read moreThe cafe was nicely decorated and we were received by Daniela, who was our waitress with a big smile! We looked at the menu which didn’t have much of a variety. We ordered two bottles of red wine Muga..which was very pricey($55) Food was okay, no wao factor. The pumpkin ravioli was good and the truffle one too, but like I said before no “wao” factor. I ordered a tiramisu and it was brought on a cheap plastic cup, consistency was good but no taste at all! Then the big whammy $300 for a pasta meal for 4 without tip which wasn’t worth it! The service was good even with the poor girl running all over! It seems she was the only waitress and there was a runner! Heard you could bring your wine and the corking fee is $20 which probably you are better off doing this! The wines were...
