KC's Restaurant and Pub — Restaurant in Guilford

This place used to be so good post 2020. I’m not sure what happened to that place. A friend and I went in on a Saturday night, typically a pretty busy night. Boy were we wrong, we should have just walked out there. The service was iffy, the waitress we had was very sweet. Trying her best. We order our food, our drinks came 5 seconds before our meal. We ordered an app and 2 meals. All of our food came out, one shot. 🤦‍♀️ first the nachos were almost cold, with close to no cheese, and dripping oil. How do you screw up nachos?? My friend ordered a pulled pork sandwich, cold. All of it. I ordered a steak, supposed to be done to a medium rare, the damn thing looked like it was seared and ready to be steak tar tar…… how do you screw up that bad, this is a 4 star place. C‘mon!! I should have known when the manager runs up to the table after getting our drinks. What happen Kc’s?! Needless to say we did not end up paying for the meal. Both hungry and pissed off customers. Awesome place for a casual meal. I always try to go whenever I am in the area.

ATMOSPHERE: Warm, friendly, dark wood, casual, GREAT bar, staff has always been incredibly nice/easy to get along with, seems like a great place to bring kiddos, a PATIO OUTSIDE. Love.

WHAT TO ORDER: Their smoked wings are honestly the best wings I have had - even my husband says so and he knows his wings! I also have to order the buffalo shrimp every time I go... too good.

I also usually get either a burger, pulled pork sandwich KC's style, a salad with salmon (their salmon is ALWAYS so good) or try a special - interesting and always a good choice. Not your typical pub food.

BEER: Always a bunch that are LOCAL and always something new to try. I love beer - and they never disappoint.

A little out of the way, as it's off the street in the back, but worth finding. The food was great. The servers were attentive and friendly. Their shirts say, "Hugs Over Hate," which is apparently the owner's slogan from a previous business and put there in memory of her late sister. KC's says it is giving back to organizations that promote love, understanding, unity, and spread kindness throughout communities. The shirts also say #smallactsofkindnessmatter.
