Nice selection, friendly staff. Only one quibble…the majority of ice cream parlors from DQ to Ben and Jerry’s and everywhere in between typically make chocolate milk shakes with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. I do ask because there was one time in Colorado where the shop used chocolate ice cream, but was happy to make it with the vanilla on request.
This is only the second place that I’ve encountered that uses chocolate ice cream as well, it’s just typically an inferior product. Again, no big deal, I simply requested the shake be made with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. I was informed that to do so would incur an up charge on a term dollar shake for the additional “topping”. I declined but did offer that I didn’t want any toppings, I just wanted a chocolate milk shake. “We can make your ten dollar shake on your fifty dollar order with chocolate ice cream or we have to charge you for a topping”, despite the fact that I did not want a topping, I wanted a shake made the traditional way.
Would recommend changing that policy because you are charging ten dollars for a shake made...
Read moreRude staff & cut corners. Their hours say they're open until 11pm but they do not offer the full menu until 11. My family of 5 came in a little after 10pm and were told they had stopped serving toppings and sundaes for the night and the only options we were able to have, from their entire menu, were the ice cream in the freezer. Also, my child needed a cup to hold their ice cream cone in and they acted incredibly difficult over this simple request. The staff was clearly ready to be done for the night and were rude, impatient and annoyed. We will never be going here again. If you are going to only offer extremely limited options why not just close earlier? One of my teenagers left with tears in their eyes due to the rudeness...
Read moreThe ice cream was alright and portions were fairly generous. My frustration was with the mason jar sundae and that the ices cream isn’t homemade (I’m used to popular ice cream spots making their own ice cream). The sundae is just scoops of ice cream with a brownie or blondie and whip cream on top. We asked if we could sub a blondie instead of a brownie cause my husband doesn’t like brownies and the lady said no substitutions. I thought oh well there must be something that goes into that so it’d be hard to change. Nope! She just refused to set the dessert we preferred on top. Wouldn’t get their sundae again but may go back since it’s walking distance from our rental condo. Otherwise we would drive to another...
