S&S Seafood Market + Kitchen — Restaurant in Gulf Shores

We ordered shrimp(both steamed and fried), gumbo, crab legs, smoke tuna dip, fries, potatoes, and corn. We come to gulf shores and orange beach 2-3 times year and mostly eat at lartigues but I wanted to try something new. Well, all I have to say is it was as good if not better. The gumbo was definitely better. The shrimp was perfect and the fried shrimp was awesome. The smoke tuna dip is unbelievable. That gumbo though, WOW!!!! Been coming here over 20 years and it’s in the top 2 I ever tasted. Most people advertise gumbo but have no idea what gumbo is. Well, this is it, finest I had in a while. We also got the platter for 8-10 people and it easily fed 10 of us, with left overs. You want be sorry to eat here. The next best thing, it only took them 16 minutes to have it all cooked and ready. Price: Our family went to Gulf Shores for a vacation and stopped by the S & S seafood. We bought a pound of grouper and a pound of a pound of shrimp. They finally charged me $40 dollars. Come on, the grouper is $14.99 and the shrimp is less than $15.00. It should be $30 + tax. After I found it out, I asked the cashier, the cashier told me: the grouper is $14.99, but they have to charge me tax, after tax, it is $20.00. OMG, 33% tax, what kind of tax it is? I asked the cashier. Then, she told me, it is out of her control, it is charged by the government for fish. I am not from AL, can anybody told me what kind of tax it is? We have been going to Gulf Shores from Missouri for 14 yrs and we always go to S&S Seafood twice each week we visit. We have been going there for fresh seafood when it was called Bedreux's. These are some of the nicest people you will deal with in GS. They are very busy every day because everyone knows how fresh their food is but they get you your order really quickly and never rush you when it's your turn. We've never gotten a bad order there in all the years we've been going and the seafood is awesome.
