West Beach Coffee House — Restaurant in Gulf Shores

I got an iced macchiato, but it wasn’t a macchiato. It was a latte. I didn’t mind because it tasted good enough to drink, but it just wasn’t what I ordered. I didn’t bother having my order corrected because there was only one girl working and the line was long. My husband ordered a frappe and was satisfied with his. However, flavor options for the frappes are limited to caramel, mocha and vanilla.

To touch on there only being one person working: we went in on a Sunday morning and waited in line to order for about 20 minutes to order, but we got our drinks quickly as she was working on a “one order at a time” basis. We weren’t in a hurry, so, we didn’t mind the wait but just adding this in the review in case you are in a hurry, you might reconsider stopping.

The facility itself is clean and inviting but the layout is a bit disorganized, meaning, the “order here” line became unclear and confusing as the coffee shop...

I came here 5 years ago and wrote the review at the bottom and gave 5 stars. Sadly, I came in today expecting the same experience and it was terrible. The barista was extremely rude and flirting with the guy behind me instead of helping with my order was about to skip me in line. The prices did NOT reflect the menu - menu said my drink was $4.50 and she charged me over $8 for a drink that didn’t even look like what I ordered - and when I asked about it she told me this is the price. I should have walked out and am super disappointed. You should NOT go here and waste your money and time. Drive the extra few minutes to the Southern Grind instead.

Its a cool location and could be an awesome spot, but the staff clearly has no experience in crafting coffee beverages. My espresso shots were old, the steam wand was not cleaned before or after steaming the milk for my latte. My milk was also skortched because it was not steamed properly. If I had a sugary syrup I might not have noticed, but when you want to taste the coffee you can taste when t is prepared improperly. Coffee was not ground fresh (maybe they just grind. It every morning which isn’t that bad, but it didn’t have a date or time posted on it).
