Surfside Pizza & Ice Cream — Restaurant in Gulf Shores

We have ordered from Surfside Pizza numerous times over the years and have never had such a poor customer service experience as we did tonight. We placed an online order (at 4:45) for delivery at 5:45. at 6:00 we called to check on the order and ask if we needed to come pick it up if delivery was running behind. We were told that our ticket had been deferred. We asked them to please make that ticket active and proceed with our order as planned. We were told it would be about 25 minutes. At 7 o’clock we called again and waited on hold for 20 minutes. When we went to the store to check on the order, it had not been made and we were told again that our ticket had been deferred. We reminded them that we had called over an hour ago and they had assured us it would only be 25 minutes. Although they offered to refund us and begin the order right, then we opted to cancel the order entirely as we had already been waiting over two hours. I’m not sure if we will be ordering from this establishment again as the customer service experience was...

Starting with food - really good pizza. Thin crust square cut, think Chicago tavern style and you're close. Good amount of cheese and toppings, baked well and reasonably priced.

The staff is kept pretty busy, but keep it together pretty well. I wouldn't be happy smiley dealing with tourists all day either.

The reasons for 3 stars are for one specific counter worker, an older woman with a gray ponytail. She was obviously having a very bad day, and it showed in her lack of caring. Other staff made up for her but she was snapping at customers and not entering orders correctly (we got wrong toppings, wasn't worth the wait to get it corrected).

I recommend eating here! It's really really good pizza. You need to plan your stop to allow plenty of time, the estimates they give at checkout are pretty optimistic (we were told 20, it was 50 minutes). Also be sure to stick around the registers, they do not call your name very loudly at all...

On vacation in gulf shores and just ordered pizza from here and it was TERRIBLE. We paid 60 bucks for 3 pizzas and it was the biggest waste of money. Everyone is disappointed, better off offering from dominoes. Pizza was dry, tasted like cardboard, chewy, hardly any cheese...... like I said terrible. Save your money and don’t order pizza from here. You’re better off being hungry than going to Surfside. Since it will not let me reply to the owners comment... I want to assure you that I am a real person and wish I would have taken a picture of your terrible pizza. Maybe we got a bad batch, or you were running low on cheese because our experience...
