Sep 2020. We come back again and we enjoy every bit of the time here. The food is great. I ordered filet and it was cook just right!! My friend ordered the almond trout. It is crisp and tenderly juice! DEC. I usually do not complain but this is a very uneasy experience on a "Valentine day". I did make resevation at 7pm and I arrived at 6:45pm. All 7pm guest were seated including many people who come after 7pm. Our group was seated at 7:20pm. We were put to seat outside the patio in cold wind and rain close to those trees. We saw two or more table are wide opened inside. The sweet lady at the entrance told us she would do anything to resolve the problem, but not able to let our group sit inside. We were just not dress warm enough to seat out the cold weather. After 5mins in the cold my 76 years old mom start sneezing. We choose to left Chimney WITHOUT eating our Valentine dinner. We were very disappointed. But the owner called us. Sincerely apologize to our experience. He even send us a coupon without expectation! So we decided to go back. This time those food were wonderful, specially the fried oyster. The filet mignon was outstanding! The steak was just right! This time, we were service well! We were very happy, so we gave a big tips to the waitress. They...
Read moreFive star for view, atmosphere and the FABULOUS FOOD. I had the fried oysters and a salad- they were the BEST EVER! My aunt had the Beef & Beach, she ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. That being said we had the most unfriendly and rude server EVER! Never spoke to us except to ask what we wanted to drink and eat. No “ how’s your food” “ need a refill” “need anything” no “ Your welcome” “my pleasure” no ANYTHING! I asked for a straw and you would have thought I asked for the world on a platter! He rolled his eyes and walked off. Brought the straw back with the next tables food, tossed it on the table and left. So sad our workforce has come to this. Customer service should definitely be taught in all service jobs because people do not know how to serve others any more, even when that’s what they are getting paid for. We did leave a generous tip with a little note. I pray he takes the words to heart. Sadly this kind of attitude does reflect bad on the whole establishment. Most people would take offense and not return. It was our first visit to The Chimneys (traveled 2hrs) and WILL NOT be our last despite a bad attitude from the server. But I do hope his day and service towards improve. And just SMILE. So simple, pain free and cost nothing. But changes so very much. God...
Read morePros: exceptional waitstaff. Food was good. The waiter was phenomenal. Ten-star service. Food was really good but not exceptional. With all the options of dining establishments on the coast and the cost of fine dining, we were not impressed. For the price, we found the dishes were lacking. I ordered the cajun redfish with crab & andouille cream sauce. Huge pieces of crab. But that was all there was to the entree. It wasn’t served with a bed of rice or any other option. Odd!! Cons: Parking is inadequate. The parking spaces do not accommodate anything larger than a compact vehicle. The entrance was not clearly marked. Although the aesthetics were lovely, the chairs were heavily soiled. I was thankful I wore dark jeans. The tablecloths held deep creases and were not laid on the tables correctly. We have never seen this. Again, for the pricing of the restaurant, we were taken aback. We have lived here our entire lives and have heard mixed reviews but wanted to treat ourselves to a nice lunch for our 25th anniversary. Although the waitstaff and food were good, we will not be back. This particular restaurant is highly overrated especially when compared to so many other affordable restaurants without tablecloths with even...
