My husband, our friend, and I visited the Gurnee, IL, Jimano's restaurant on Thursday, June 22, at about 9:30pm, having just driven in from the Cleveland, OH, area. Steven, the manager, went above and beyond the call of his duty to advise us on the kind of pizza we'd ordered ("not Chicago deep-dish") and to let us know that the pizza would take about 25-30 minutes to prepare and cook. He did not mention that the store would be closing in about that time, and he did not kick us out of the restaurant either at the time of ordering or when the pizza came. Steven also accommodated our special version of the "create your own 6-pick" beverage choice: I was concerned that he would get in trouble for doing this, and he said, "Don't worry: I'm the manager, so I won't get in trouble." In addition to this beautiful, kind treatment, we had the world's best pizza. It was made with the freshest ingredients, cooked to just the right temperature, and came hot from the oven. I have only two regrets about this situation: 1 - I'd promised Steven to write a very nice review the next morning, and I've had to wait for 4 days to do it for reasons beyond my control; and 2 - Jimano's doesn't yet have a restaurant in northern Virginia, where we live. JImano's and Steven provide a delicious and welcoming dining experience, one where we felt at home from the moment we walked through the door. When we left northern Virginia on June 21, I told my husband and our friend that we were going to eat at Jimano's for dinner on Thursday night (the 22nd). They knew better than to argue, and we all loved the experience. We cannot say enough good things about Jimano's and Steven. We will definitely return...
Read moreI was in a mood for deep dish pizza so I wanted to try this place. We ordered a medium sized Pan pizza and an order of a 10 piece wing with 2 drinks. When the total came up it was $62 for 1 medium sized pizza and wings (I wasn’t paying for it, the person I was with said they wanted to treat me to dinner) it took me by surprise. The pizza was just "Ok" the toppings on it was chicken, Giardinera and the vegan pepperoni. I shouldn’t have gotten the pepperoni because the texture and taste didn’t not go well with the pizza. I could barely taste any of the tomato sauce which is important to the entirety of the pizza. I have a pretty high standard when it comes to how my food tastes but the person I was with whom is pretty even keel when it comes to food surprisingly said "The pizza is a no for me" The Garlic Parmesan wings were pretty decent. It was the best part of the meal. Were they worth the $17? No. All in all I ended up giving my friend some money back on the food because I felt bad about the experience. The people we interacted with that worked there were nice, we just were disappointed with the quality of the pizza for that price. Maybe we’re spoiled with the variety of good pizza places around our town where it’s good quality pizzas for decent pricing. For example we could’ve gotten 2 bigger sized, better tasting pizzas from a Derangos Ferraros, Infusinos WITH wings for around...
Read moreThis is our go-to pizza place! Always check out their coupons and day-of-the-week promotions for a great deal! We love their thin crust pepperoni and sausage pizza. Quality ingredients. Toppings are perfectly proportioned. Gooey, delicious cheese. Always hot and fresh from the oven. Don't let my recommendation of their excellent thin-crust stop you from trying their full menu of sides, salads, pastas, deep-dish crust pizza, and other offerings! A+ friendly customer service. (I can't speak for delivery--we always carry out/pick up.) Restaurant has a small dine-in area and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Wait time is typical for a pizza place (30-40 minutes for carry out). Jimano's satisfying pizza, excellent customer service, and convenient location have made us return customers for our Sunday ritual "Pizza Night," our "too lazy to cook" nights, and our "I have a craving for...
