Greggory's Pastry Shop — Restaurant in Hadley

We were shopping around locally for First Birthday theme cakes. Greggory’s was recommended by a couple friends. I called them for a quote, and he was the most reasonably priced in the area. We ordered three cakes; two smash cakes: a 4 inch, and a 6 inch, and then a 12 inch cake for our daughter’s first birthday with a “Winter One-derland” theme. I needed them for Saturday, January 13 and was told they would be ready that morning. She was having her first birthday photos that Saturday, January 13th and then her birthday party on that Sunday. I emailed a picture of “reference” to Greggory, and requested that he put his own flair to them, which absolutely he did. When I went to pick up the cakes that Saturday morning, they were beyond gorgeous. They were better than I ever could have imagined. The pictures do not do them justice. The cakes were perfect!! The smash cakes were vanilla flavored with a Bavarian cream filling and the 12 inch was marble with a Bavarian cream filling. Our little girl loved her smash cakes, it was the first time she was having something sweet. The cakes were the BEST cakes we ever had!! All of our guests raved about how beautiful the cakes were and how delicious the cake was. They asked where we got them from, and when we told them Greggory’s in Hadley, they were not surprised and said “He makes the best cakes!” The cakes were not dry at all, they tasted so fresh, the filling was to die for and the buttercream frosting was perfect!! They were DELICIOUS!! He made sure there was no small fondant decorations on the smash cakes for our one year old, so we didn’t have to worry about any choking hazards. The focus and attention to detail that he puts into the cakes are phenomenal!! You cannot get a better cake than from Greggory’s, you will not be disappointed. We will now be purchasing all of our cakes from here in the future. I just wish I knew about this bakery sooner. They are cash only, and they do tell you this when you place your order, which is not a big deal. I did buy some pastries; a couple cupcakes, and an apple turnover. They were amazing!! The staff is super nice and helpful, and Greggory himself was super nice and friendly. He was happy to hear that I was so happy with his work. Thank you so much for making our little girl’s day so special!! We can’t wait to order...

We had our wedding at the Inn on Boltwood in Amherst a few days ago. Greggory’s Pastry Shop baked our cake for us and it was amazing. We chose Greggory to make our cake based on the selection of cake, frosting, and filling flavor combinations. Greggory allowed us to pick as many sample combinations as we wanted (we tried a five different ones). We ended up selecting a maple cake with white chocolate buttercream frosting with a cream cheese filling. Our guests told us it was one of the best cakes they had. We also were in love with how the cake turned out (we were lucky enough to have some leftover to take home since we had a few less guests than anticipated). We are so pleased that we chose Greggory’s Pastry for our cake. We can’t wait to buy another cake from him. Also, in the process of picking a cake, we tried a few other pastries from his shop which were all equally delicious. This was one of the best decisions for our wedding! Don't tip here, the owner pockets every dime. Nothing is home made, it's all from concentrate pre made ingredients. The "butter cream" is literally just crisco and hymo and powder sugar. No butter is actually used in anything. The owner almost never washes his hands or utensils and every single cake is made with crisco, the puff pastires are bulk baught and come in frozen. Iv witnessed the owner scream at employees and customers in the same day. Eating the cakes and pastries from here will literally give you heart disease. Iv personally witnessed the owner using bulk bucket eggs that he just leaves out in a dirty sink all day. It's gross. Big Y has a much better bakery and it's not ripping you off like Greggory is.
