I don’t usually post reviews, but I felt compelled to share this experience.

After seeing several high reviews, my wife and I decided to try this new diner. We were greeted kindly and seated promptly. The menu was large, and after a few minutes, we placed our order. I went with the meatloaf, with sides of clam chowder, onion rings, and broccoli. My wife ordered the Cordon Bleu panini with fries. My meal, unfortunately, didn’t meet expectations. The meatloaf came out as two slices with some gravy on top, but the slices had a blackened crust that wasn’t appealing. After just two bites, I found it very dry and over powering with garlic. It just wasn’t what I was expecting from a diner-style meatloaf. I did not pursue eating the remainder and just ate the sides, which were good.

Our waitress was kind. When she noticed I didn’t finish the meatloaf and asked if I wanted a box, I explained that I didn’t care for it. She was understanding, said I was the first to dislike it, and mentioned she’d speak to the manager. When she brought the bill, she said we could pay at the register — no further mention of the manager, however after looking at the bill the meatloaf meal was comped, and I was very appreciative to the management.

Unfortunately, things took a turn at the register. I handed the bill to the person behind the counter (who I later learned was the owner). She looked at the ticket and abruptly said, “ So, you’re the one who didn’t like the meatloaf.” I confirmed, and she then went on to say her husband had prepared it and I was the only one who had ever complained about it. I repeated that it just wasn’t to my taste. As I walked out, I heard her say to someone behind her, that I was was rude and hoped that I would never come back.

Well, I had every intention of giving this establishment another try. But after that comment, I won’t be returning.

As a business owner myself, I’ve always welcomed feedback—good or bad—because it gives me the opportunity to improve and potentially win back a customer’s trust. Unfortunately, it seems that in today’s social environment, many individuals are no longer open to receiving constructive criticism. That’s a shame, because honest dialogue is how businesses grow...

I've had one meal here and so far it's been excellent. I usually order Reuben's in American fare restaurants and theirs is excellent. I've had many in town and this was one of the better. The corned beef was thick cut and not overwhelmingly stacked and the sauerkraut was just the right balance. Reuben's are a science, you see.

I have to say I was most impressed about the fries. The style and flavor is not much to write home about as they're your usual medium cut unflavored fries, but what blew me away is that they were unsalted. I usually order this way but forgot because I was exhausted today but luckily they came that way. It's always refreshing when a restaurant doesn't salt/over-salt your food as it's not only bad for you, but not a flavor in and of itself, it's a flavor enhancer. Many restaurants, especially fast food, add so incredibly much that the main course is salt. I can't even choke down a Wendy's French fry as-is... Just make sure if you want your fries salted, to ask them to salt right away out of the fryer with your preferred amount as the best time is straight out of the fryer so the oil can grab it.

I don't eat American diner food when I go out much as I prefer international if I'm not cooking but this will definitely be a place in rotation. It's also nice to see a business in this location and I hope it thrives. My Mom remembered going down Mrs. Corsi's hall in her house to pick up spaghetti before the restaurant was built. I have a lot of family memories in that place and it was one of my Grandparent's favorite places to go.

The food was also done very quick but I'm sure it depends on what you order. I did see some other people's orders and the portions looked pretty big. Mine were...

I was here three nights ago! I’m back! For good reason. I love some good down home cooking. Good atmosphere, wonderful staff, the portions are great. The best part yet is the price! I had the other night the broiled seafood platter; haddock, scallops, shrimp, crab cake, onion rings, sweet potato fries and a salad with an Arnold Palmer tea. My husband and a nice size bowl of meatballs and spaghetti, garlic bread, salad and Arnold Palmer tea. You ready, $40. Today I order the stir fry: steak, shrimp, chicken over a bed of rice and broccoli. Now I know you’re thinking; mostly rice…NOPE! My husband had Chopped steak, broccoli and fries with a salad. with our tea. $29.00 I want to say! I never review a place unless I am impressed. You want somewhere it’s nice and want to twitch some great food; where people make you really feel like you’re important to be looked after with a pleasant manner. Look go and give it a try! You...

This is my first time trying out Oak Ridge Family Restaurant at their brand new location! It’s a small little restaurant, but they have a good amount of seats to accommodate guests. They will give you a physical menu and will have daily special selections written on their blackboard. My family ordered the homemade lasagna as that was quite popular on a Friday. They absolutely loved it! I ordered the 2 piece country fried steak and it came with biscuit gravy. It wasn’t bad at all and for the price you get 2! My other family member ordered the burger and they were disappointed. Mostly when your burgers are really big you lose the flavor and texture. As for an appetizer we ordered the fried pickle spears. These are your thinly sliced spears. Overall, this little restaurant has potential and I would come back again in the future. I’m glad I got try them out. Can't say enough, first visit and definitely not my last, got one of their "daily specials" FISH & CHIPS" with a side of broccoli. This is real deal hand battered haddock, not the boxed generic frozen fish most restaurants serve and the fries were crisp and not limp like fast food restaurant serve. Fish was thick and not try. This reminded of what I got when I visit the UK, excellant and as good as it gets. Very friendly staff and including the chef, made we feel welcome and they've "earned" my continued business plus they have an extensive menu and all day breakfast. Food homemade from scratch, a step up from dinner food, you owe yourself a visit ... more than worth it ... Definitely

Great food and prices and very friendly atmosphere. The hamburger with a pretzel bun served with beer battered fries was great. Gf had the chicken breast with a pretzel bun which was also amazing. Both were cooked perfectly. Nice and juicy. The crab pretzel is also amazing hit for an appetizer. Can’t wait to go back and try something else off of the expansive menu.
