Okay, after going here for the first time. Seeing how bad it was, and then looking at the reviews, I honestly have to say anyone of these reviews. That is good, is it's someone that works there and a complete lie. This was terrible. Talk about they could not handle anything. My family of 10 went here. My uncle got there first sat at the bar. Asked him to set up a table of 10. They would not do it until we were all there to which he said, you're not that busy. You really couldn't do it to which they absolutely refused. So when we all showed up, we then had to wait almost 40 minutes for them to simply push 2 tables together. In a spot where they were surrounded with other empty tables as they were explaining, it was completely full and they still couldn't do it. They instantly insisted on taking our order, drinks, food and everything. The second we sat down, they did it between three waitresses switched up, who was taking what completely screwed up the orders. It was completely trashed. We waited an hour and twenty minutes before the food came out. It literally takes ten minutes to grill a steak. The waitstaff never came back to check on us at all in any way, shape or form during this entire time. When they brought the food, it was completely nasty disgusting. And basically, no one even ate anything. It tasted disgusting i don't even know how every single person sat there and said, yuck at a BBQ place. I could never get their attention at all to get any kind of drinks. They then decided it was time for us to order dessert, to which everyone basically said we're pretty much done here.We don't want dessert, get us to check.Let's go. This took another half an hour. They completely screwed it up with the three waitresses. They had no idea how to divide up the bill. I think we had honestly in almost being there three hours at that point.Seeing those waitresses maybe three times. At the point, the check came, which was completely screwed up. They were then totally in our faces, and our best friend about getting the tip. I have never seen 10 people, so happily say, yeah, right No thank you. To a tip. Being here three hours this was horrible. The food that my kids did not eat that looked okay.I took home as leftovers, nothing was any good. Don't waste...
Read moreI had not been to this place in awhile. Usually I go in to sit and eat, but have also gotten "to go" orders at the bar before this. Last night's "to go" order at the bar was pitiful. First of all they were not busy, and I was ignored by the 2 girl bartenders. I had to ask about 3 times before I got my drink which was so overfilled it spilled all the place I had to ask for napkins to clean the mess off myself, the bar and the glass. No apology, nothing. They both disappeared again for 10 minutes (there was about 3 people at the bar). I could hear them talking loudly in the back. Again after they floated around the bar for about 5 minutes and didnt ask if I was ready to order, I had to literally demand to place an order which the one girl had to ask the other if she had started a tab for me and then acted like I was being a pain when she took my order and said "its going to be awhile". Then they disappeared again. 45 minutes later my she dropped the bag with my food in front of me, no ticket to pay, as if I just wanted to sit there with my food getting soggy and walked away again. I kept asking for someone to give me my bill so I could pay and get out of there. Both bartenders were at the end of the bar by the kitchen area talking to each other and other employee's when I finally got ones attention and she gave me my receipt and walked away again when I had cash in my hand! I wanted to pay and get the Hell out of there, by then it had been over an hour! My husband came in after waiting in the car and said "whats taking so long?". So after 10 more minutes, I just left the $20 bill on the bar, forced to leave a $1.10 tip on the bar that they didnt deserve and walked out. This place could use a spot on Restaurant Stakeout because nobody is minding the store and the service sucks. Plus when I got home to eat my burger, it was so soggy and greasy I couldnt eat but a 1/4 of it. They didnt even fire-grill it as usual. I'm calling the manager this morning about this experience. But I think this place has really...
Read moreIâve always enjoyed Longhorn Steakhouseâs food, but our Fatherâs Day experience was so frustrating that I doubt weâll return. Hereâs what happened:
Cell-phone âPagerâ System Gone Wrong
We joined the wait list and were told the wait would be about 25 minutes. Instead of a traditional pager, they rely on texting you when your table is ready.
Uncomfortable and Unhealthy Waiting Area The indoor waiting area was packed, so we waited outside. The outdoor patio was equally crowded with people smoking and vaping. With three young kids in tow, we moved further away to avoid second-hand smoke, but still in sight of the doors.
Missed Notification & Queue Penalty After about 25 minutes, a sudden rain shower prompted me to head back inside and check our status. The first host said they should be able to seat us, but a second host informed me that they had called our nameâbut because I hadnât received the text, theyâd have to put us at the end of the queue. No apology and another 30-minute wait expected.
Lack of Flexibility or Compassion We were about to get wet from the rain, there was no room inside, juggling three kids, and eager to sit down for a meal, their only solution was âtough luckââno pager fallback, no shout-out, nothing.
Bottom Line: The food at Longhorn is still tasty, but their reliance on a flaky text-only waiting system and the unwillingness to accommodate families who had already waited and just checked in shortly after supposedly being called left a very sour taste in our mouths. If you have small children (or donât want to stand in the rain and smoke), bewareâthis restaurant hasnât thought through its customer experience. Serious revamp needed: bring back pagers or at least a verbal call for your name to all patrons waiting even if away from second-hand smoke, and train staff to offer better service when...
