First, I want to say I will be back. I had an excellent dinner tonight. As good as this place is, some things can be better. That’s a pretty incredible thing to say because the food is freaking good. They have an incredible menu here, as I understand it tonight they launched the new menu so I’m allowing some understanding of that point. What I want to say about the menu is that this isn’t your typical bar food. There’s imagination taking place. Call it fusion if you will. Things are just a little bit different and better because of the imagination behind this very creative menu. Particularly for a place like Hagerstown where everyone seems to do the same thing. Not Fosters, they do things different and they do things better. Our server was Faith, and she wasn’t excellent, she was INCREDIBLE. She was very attentive, but not overly and she kept us informed about the status of orders that we had placed. We couldn’t be happier with the service we received. We started with an appetizer of fried green tomatoes. Don’t make the mistake of missing these! Five very large tomatoes or gorgeously, crisp, and golden brown. And now to venture to an area that I think needs some attention. The tomatoes were served with a Mustard style sauce. Don’t get me wrong, I love mustard. If this were remoulade style sauce, I would say the mustard was a bit too penetrating. But this isn’t the main point of what I want to say about sauces at Fosters on the Pointe: They give you lots of sauce! And all the sauces are delicious… There’s no complaint about the sauce themselves… They are freaking incredible. I loved everyone. But back to the fried tomatoes, because they were swimming in the mustard style sauce. Less could’ve been better here. Next up was the small Caesar salad that was served with my entrée. Once again, it was swimming in the dressing. I’m a huge fan of Caesar dressing, and I am known to be critical of dressings that are not housemade. I have no idea if this dressing was housemade or not, but I am sure that it was not made according to the traditional recipe with anchovies. That I would know because I love those little salty fishes. Still, the Caesar dressing wasn’t the main problem. It was the amount of it that the salad was bathed in. Again, less could be better here. Now I didn’t plan this night out to be a night of sauces, but it just ended up that way because for my entrée I had the shrimp and grits. My compliments to whoever conceived the recipe for this dish! The sauce was incredible! The shrimp were appropriately done and not overcooked… I think there could have been less sauce amongst the grits and shrimp. The bowl was nearly filled to the brim with sauce, and I didn’t know where to look to find the grits at first. But one taste of the sauce told me that someone back in that kitchen really knows how to meld flavors together. I can’t wait to go back to Fosters! They have an incredible menu and they have lunch specials Monday through Friday that sound like I need to try each one of them. Maybe I could make a week of going there just for lunch. Or maybe I could go just for The Service? If you haven’t been to Fosters, please give it a chance. The price are reasonable, the atmosphere is very nice, the service is excellent, the menu is special and different, and they are definitely trying to do something different from other establishments in the area. I really like this place. They have an outdoor seating area that looks fantastic. It was rainy tonight so we didn’t venture out there, but it won’t be long until we do. If Fosters is listening to this post, I hope they will cut the amount of sauce for each dish slightly, maybe about 1/3 would be right? There’s not much I can say about the food or this place that isn’t positive. My perspective is from a purely culinary point of view… And I know that’s not everyone’s take. It’s just mine, and I want this place to do well and maintain a presence for a long, very long time.Thank you Fosters for a very nice date night with my dear sweet, incredibly gorgeous...
Read moreOur recent visit to Foster’s on The Point truly exceeded our expectations! During our long journey from the Outer Banks in North Carolina to Pennsylvania, we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant conveniently located near Interstate 81 in Hagerstown. After reading glowing Google reviews, we decided to give it a try, and we are so glad we did!
From the moment we called to place our to-go order, the exceptional service was evident. The staff at Fosters were incredibly efficient and friendly, taking our order promptly over the phone. When we arrived just 15 minutes later, our food was coming out of the kitchen- talk about impressive service!
As we dug into our burgers, it was clear that we were in for a treat. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the quality of the ingredients truly shone through. Our party of three all opted for burgers, and we were all absolutely delighted with our choices. Personally, I couldn't get enough of the delicious combination of egg and avocado on my Foster's burger - it was a taste sensation!
And let's not forget about the fries - they were simply to die for! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned, they were the ideal accompaniment to our mouthwatering burgers.
Overall, our experience at Foster’s on The Point was nothing short of outstanding. The combination of top-notch service, delectable food, and cozy atmosphere made for a memorable dining experience that we won't soon forget. If you find yourself in Hagerstown, Maryland, do yourself a favor and pay a visit to Foster’s on The Point - you won't be disappointed!

Read moreWhat an experience. Arrived around 6:50pm. Noticed several tables outside were reserved, about 2 empty tables needed to be bussed. Hostess told our group of 5 "it'll be a couple minutes." 25 minutes later we were finally sat at a table, saw 4 tables available inside waiting to be bussed. Hard start but we were gonna hold out. One great aspect of this restaurant is the outside area out back and live music they have, great way to relax after a long week. Waited 20 minutes to order drinks and after about 20 minutes we got the drinks. When the server delivered the drinks we asked to put in our food order. We waited 1hr 30mins for our apps, we did ask our server how long the wings were gonna take, she didn't know. I asked the runner who dropped off our wings, how the kitchen was doing, runner explained that they lost 2 people at the beginning of the summer and have been having a hard time replacing them. It took about another hr for the food. We ordered 2 medium burgers, they both came out well done and burnt. We gave up trying to even get it corrected due to the wait for food and inability to get anyone's attention. The rest of our group ordered a rueben, southwestern salad, and tuna bowl - no complaints from them. The server was attentive when she could be, but the hostess who turned out to be the owner kept taking the server aside and having words with her. The owner barely said a word to us the whole time, even though we continually saw her through our 3 hour visit. We will try this place again when they sort out the kitchen and can better communicate...
