Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Hagerstown

I’ve been a regular here for a while and truly love their smoothies. We usually come once, sometimes even twice a week. But today was just not it.

When we walked in, two girls were at the front: one was making smoothies while the other was just chatting with someone who seemed to be her boyfriend or friend. We waited for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged. After finishing her conversation, the girl walked right past us without a word and went to the back. Eventually, another girl came out. no greeting, nothing, just took out her AirPods and stood there looking at us. I gave her my order, and when she was done taking the order she just put her AirPods back in and went to the back.

While waiting, we noticed the girl making smoothies ran out of açaí. Instead of getting more, she added extra water to the mix. When we got to the car and tried them, they tasted more like water than anything else, barely any flavor.

We went back in and asked for a refund, but were told they don’t do refunds. They offered to remake them, but there was a line forming and they looked rushed, so we declined. We then asked for a gift card instead and were told they don’t do those either. At that point, we gave the smoothies back since we weren’t going to drink something that wasn’t good.

We asked to speak to a manager, but were told there wasn’t one available. When we asked for the manager’s name to follow up, they refused to give it. We also asked the name of the employee we were speaking with, and she wouldn’t give us that either. Saying she wasn’t allowed.

It was incredibly frustrating to go back and forth over something so simple. I’ve always enjoyed coming here, but after this experience, I won’t...

I would normally give Tropical Smoothie Cafe 5 Stars I've been coming here for over a year multiple times a week to buy smoothies which normally are the best!! But the last 2 times with a certain worker that I've never seen before the smoothies have been absolutely horrible the smoothies have been runny as hell there not even drinkable to be honest I let it slide the first time when I got a bad smoothie they were crowded she had her friends in there while she was working but tonight there was no one in there and the smoothies were the exact same consistency as last time Runny as hell no one wants a runny smoothie there was no thick consistency whatsoever so as long as she works there I'm going to pass buying smoothies from here sad to say I really enjoy the smoothies here when there made right!! But that's what happens when you hire people who don't care or can't do their job correctly these smoothies aren't cheap by no means and I've given them alot of business since I started buying smoothies there well over a year ago if this worker continues to work there I think they will lose more then just my business Just giving you guys a...

I first was to say thank you for such a better choice for food on the healthy note. Love the company and everything it stands for.

I have to make a complaint about the location in hagerstown MD. You currently offer the Ohana smoothie for limited I believe. I have to drive about 35 minutes to your location cause there hasn't been one opened in my area yet. It is advertised in your store for a kid size 5.99 and a bigger size for 7.99. I wanted a large one, figured like all your smoothies I would love it. The cashier said she couldn't do it because they weren't making the large ones. She then proceeded to say we can make 2 small ones. I know they weren't out of cups, it was just an inconvenience for me to have to purchase 2 items which would cost more than 1 cup. I think the large size should have been covered up, if you chose not to sell it. Gas isn't cheap and someday's i have to treat tropical smoothie as a luxury snack instead of it just being a better choice for me.
