Halal Gyro King @ Belmont Ave — Restaurant in Haledon

So about a month ago I visited this place during game 5 of the nba finals, and got food poisoning the next day. I enjoy halal food and was brought here by some friends. I ordered a chicken gyro platter and noticed the guy pulled the chicken out of a metal drawer. I disregarded this because I was starving. I read some other reviews that said the place was unclean and gross. I ate my whole platter after barely eating that day. I enjoyed the game and everything was great. However, the next day I was woken up to stomach pain and my intestines were in shambles. I had a fever was dizzy and fatigued and felt like garbage. Thankfully, I didn’t have work because all my errands were gone from the physical condition I was in. I slept for 14 hours during the day. The food was alright in the moment but didn’t prove to be worth it in the long shot. All in all, maybe the staff could realize to make sure all meats are cooked and to be cleaner in the workplace. They could be sued for instances like this and should be well...

Disgusting! Me and my girlfriend usually love halal food. To the point when all else fails, we just order halal knowing that we will always enjoy it. We ordered two chicken platters and wings for the first time here to deliver at our house. And i have to say, the chicken tasted old and weird. The more i ate it, the more my mouth regected eating it. The wings were 2 out of 5 but the skin of the chicken was so over breaded, that the skin had weird lumps on them with only skin and no chicken. It looked like the chicken had tumors on them. Me and my girlfriend hated to have thrown away the food for the fact that we spent money on it, but we just couldnt. I wont order here again. I would rather go to my main spot down the street...

Halal & local, big wins! This is my 2nd or third time ordering food from here & it satisfies your craving... on a budget too. The food is affordable, is clean, quick, and tasty. I've ordered delivery, ate in, and taken out. The service is fast & fresh. I've ordered their mixed platters, the chicken tenders & fries, burgers, and more. All items are good, not amazing, but you get what you pay for. There is normally a single worker doing everything: the cook/ waiter/cashier, so be generous tipping...
