CHECK YOUR FOOD, BECAUSE THEY WON'T. Just ordered a large meat-lovers stromboli and brought it home. As we're eating, there are some very chewy/stringy pieces in it. One got caught in my throat and I had to pull it out to stop gagging on it. It looked like the casing from the pepperoni. I picked some of the other pieces of pepperoni out of the boli and they all had casings still on them. (I could peel the casings off the individual slices.) I called the restaurant and asked to speak to someone about a problem with my order. The man I spoke to (don't know if he gave me his name or not) said there is no casing on their pepperoni when they buy it so there can't be casings in my boli. I told him I pulled it out of my throat and from a bunch of pieces I pulled from my plate. He said he'd make me another boli but it would have the same pepperoni in it as the one I already had. I said I didn't want another one with the same pepperoni with casings on them. He was laughing as he was talking to me throughout the conversation. He asked what I wanted him to do and I said that not laughing would be a start. I offered to bring the boli back so he could see the casings, he said I could but there's nothing wrong with their pepperoni and the only thing he could do is make me another one with the same pepperoni. I asked what his position was there and he said I might as well call him the manager because he makes the food and said he didn't know what I expected him to do. I told him I wouldn't be ordering anything else since they didn't seem concerned about what they are serving to their customers (not even an offer to check their pepperoni in case their supplier gave them bad product). He said, "Fair enough". I know pizza shops tend to have a younger, inexperienced staff, but the shop owner should be aware that they are putting customers at risk and think it's a joke. Not only did they deny there was any problem with the food; they obviously had no intention of checking their ingredients to make sure they are safe to be served to...
Read moreI’ve waited a week to write this review, because I needed time to calm down so I didn’t completely lose it. My daughter’s first birthday was last week, and we decided to order pizza to feed our 60 guests. My husband and I live in Halifax and we frequent Doughboy quite often, sometimes once a week. We called about a month in advance to see how much time they’d need to process the order of 16 pizzas. The person on the phone told us to call the day before, they only needed 24 hours. We then called at 11am the morning before her party, which started at 2. They told us they would have the order ready and delivered by 2:15 on the day of the party.
At 2:30, I have 60 some hungry guests, so my husband called the restaurants to see where the pizzas were. He came back and told me they didn’t make the order and the pizzas weren’t coming. THEY DIDN’T MAKE THE ORDER. Apparently the woman on the phone who told him this then hung up on him when he asked why they weren’t made. We had spoken to them numerous times, and called and spoke to someone there whose job it was to take this order and pass it to whoever would prepare it. They failed, and I had to have a party without food. Thank goodness Derick at Broad Mountain Vineyard (where we had her party) stepped up and saved the day. He took time from his busy business to make enough pizza to feed my guests.
I am still furious that this happened, someone at this establishment simply didn’t do their job. We will no longer give them our business, and I will not hesitate to share my experience. I would give them zero...
Read moreI just ordered online to pick up dinner. I was charged and everything. I shortly after received a text that the order was cancelled because they're out of Alfredo sauce. That was only one meal I ordered out of 3. It also said that the money would be refunded within 7-10 business days. 7-10 business days. Seriously?! I tried to call, perhaps to order something other than the pasta, and there is no answer. I would think I would get a call to tell me they were out of one thing so I might substitute, or order something else. But no option was given. So now I have to find something else for dinner AND I'm out almost $40 for 7-10 days. So, take from this what you will but, I'm very unhappy. 7-10 days for money back on nothing. What a mess.
Edit: I was sitting in the parking lot writing this review. I ordered at 8pm, the store closes at 9pm. This review was written and posted at 8:30pm. The open sign was turned off while I sat there. That's why the call wasn't answered giving me options. My order was cancelled and I have to wait at least a week for my money back because I guess they wanted to go home early. I'm in customer service. I don't think I've ever experienced anything so off-putting from a place I'd never actually...
