Royal Pecan Pie
This pie is a real treat, the result of many festive Christmas toasts. We take our original Pecan Pie, then add two jigger — or maybe just a little more — Crown Royal Canadian Whiskey to the mix. The result is an incredibly sweet pie with a warming sensation in every bite. We have to lock these in a chilled safe to keep them from disappearing! Great for holiday parties and gifts

We loved going here for lunch. We called in our orders. However we called ahead and asked for extra tartar sauce with our seafood plater . I asked when I got to window and paid and didn’t have extra tartar sauce so the 2 girls at the window politely gave me 2 extra 1 for each dinner. I was driving home and I had about 6 calls from the Kountry Bakery. I finally pulled over and called back. A person named Eric yelled and was very rude told me he charged me extra for the 2 extra tarter sauces and it was up to someone else to make sure I got them I politely told him thank you. Now we don’t want to go back! I hate it because we went there several times a week. But that is very rude and we will not deal with poor customer service as he gave. Very sad no matter whose son he...

A star rating on this one is hard because I don't really know what to put. I can't eat pork so 90% of the kolache were not an option to me. I ordered a spicy chicken kolache which was the only type they had made I could eat. It was not very good truth be told. The chicken was rubbery and by the end I just took the chicken breast out at ate the bread. I don't really do sweets at all and maybe once every few years for breakfast soooo my options were limited. I am giving a higher rating than my experience mentioned above might suggest it should. This is based on the face that I went with a few other people and they seemed to really enjoy their food. I think one of them had a jalapeno sausage kolache which they said was really...

Don’t Pass Up Kountry Bakery! Spotted the sign heading into Hallettsville and figured, why not? Found it easy, and WOW—so glad we stopped. Pastries everywhere, and yes… fresh dewberry pie!

But let me tell you about lunch. I got the grilled chicken sandwich—fully loaded with lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard, onions, pickles, and cheese. Normally I’d say “hold this, skip that,” but this time I went all in. And oh my gosh… perfection.

My friend had the chicken noodle soup, and instead of a bowl of broth with a few bits floating in it, this one was stuffed with meat and veggies. Bonus points for the sweet cornbread on the side.

Traveling through? This place is a definite YES. Bakery, lunch, and small-town charm all...

Drove from Sheridan to grab some dinner as it appeared good from other posts. We showed up roughly an hour before closing and we're only customers in restaurant. Customer service is very important in the restraunt business and it was lacking that day. Tea was picked up, register was closed before restaurant closed. I wanted to buy four pieces of pies and a loaf of their baked bread. Was told sorry there was nothing they could do as they closed the register. They knew we were not finished and noticed I kept looking at pies, they could have asked if there was anything else before they closed register. Hopefully this was just an off day because there losing sales which is money.

Food is subpar, my kids enjoyed their grilled cheese. Fries were good. Don’t get the frito pie unless your used to eating them with soggy Fritos and just meat, no chili. Tried to swap it out for something else but they told me I had to pay which I get but if a customer is not satisfied with what they received at least make an attempt to make it right. The Fritos are not soggy out of the bag, my plate must have been sitting there for a awhile before being brought out. Out of the very few places there is to stop to eat in Hallettsville, this one will be crossed off my list. Stick to pastries and breakfast kolaches.
