The view and atmosphere is phenomenal. We ordered an enchilada plate with three enchiladas rice and beans. We sat on the patio and the service was just ok. We might have sent it back but the waitress didn't come back soon enough. The rice was not standard Mexican rice. It was just boiled rice with some flavoring. The chef was probably not trained in authentic Mexican cooking. The pinto beans were flavorless and so thick it was like unflavored no salt or fat refried beans. The beef enchilada the meat was kind of rubbery. The salsa had no onions garlic cilantro or salt. It was just tomatoes and a large chunks of chopped jalapenos or poblano peppers. The chips were flavorful but quite thick and hard. The tomatillo sauce was quite spicy as if there were ground up jalapenos in it. It was the worst tomatillo sauce I've ever had and I have eaten Mexican food all over Southern California and all the upscale Mexican. Restaurant chains. So, the Pepsi was outstanding. The view is terrific overlooking the golf course and Sleeping Giant. The inside decor is great, it's a great location and very Mexican looking but this is probably a good place to go if you are NOT hungry and just want a beer or beverage. I am sorry to write such a negative review but if the owner sees this and wants to hire someone as a food consultant I know someone who is available and they can contact me through this post.

honestly very disappointing! as someone who enjoys eating out at mexican restaurants, this one is by far the worst i’ve ever had. for starters, it is a mexicali type cuisine. if you want something close to the genuine thing i would go to either puerto vallarta in orange/milford or toritos in north haven. the inside is very tight. the tables are close together, and it only seems like they have limited tables inside. the atmosphere is not cute as the bar and dining area are not separate. you are close together so it’s like everyone could hear your conversation. it took a while to be waited on. the waiter seemed to be running everything himself (poor guy). as for the food itself, just awful. i ordered the steak fajitas and you can choose from any 3 sides: i chose rice, beans and guacamole. at any other restaurant, they would bring you your plate of rice and beans, but they gave me this small bowl filled with boxed goya rice that tasted awful and bland, and they practically mixed my beans in it! the steak in the fajitas had a funky smell to it, and since i was eating it with the tortilla, veggies and guacamole i did not realize until after that it may have been spoiled. they give you a small portion of meat, and most of it is practically just fat and burnt. again, very disappointing :( i do not recommend this place. i give it 2 stars for the fries my mom had with her burger

My wife and I met a friend this afternoon for lunch at Aunt Chilada's. I was told it is under new ownership by our very friendly host Joe. We sat near one of the fireplaces with a nice (gas) fire going. The last time I was in this restaurant was after a softball game in Cheshire close to 40 years ago. Not much has changed in the building. It was very bright inside with the winter sun streaming inside the dinning area. The upstairs was as I last saw it large and open space with a bar. Down to lunch, we sat near the fireplace downstairs in the bar area, very comfortable. Joe came over and let us know they had Empanadas for a special, that was good enough for all three of us. A few couples came in and were seated and a few came and sat at the bar. Our food arrived, beautiful golden brown crusted shells filled with a great mix of beef and cheese a little spicy sauce served on the side to enhance the great flavors. Very tasty and quite filling. This was a perfect spot to enjoy some good food, service and atmosphere and perfect acoustics so we could talk and enjoy each others company. We finished and sat around shooting the breeze, it was great. Ample seating, parking no issue at all. It was nice to be inside once again.

To start off, Aunt Chiladas I will admit the location is beautiful, The outside looked great but my food was 👎 just bad. To start off we walked in and it and they were everywhere. People were there ignoring me and my companion. Then finally we sat down in a empty dinning room. The fireplace looked burnt out and dirty, the walls could use some paint, and when they gave us chips there were barely any salsa!! But we ignored that fact and started to order. When we were waiting for our food people kept walking past us to go to the patio. They kept staring making me and my companion uncomfortable. We talked while waiting and I felt like that everyone could hear us and we had no privacy! Then we got our food. My first reaction was OMG. It stunk! I got a black bean Brito and they put something on there to make it stunk and it was all over the Brito . And I forgot to mention it was so smelly! The red sauce was all over and I DID NOT want to touch it. When I tried to eat it I saw that the beans were over flooding out of my food, and i even got a bean in my pocket! So I tried again and again but I couldn’t. So I left it and they had rice but it had that smelly thing on it too but that wasn’t good ether. So I just ate my nachos they were the best thing on the menu! But we asked for a check and when we paid the waitress came up to us and said “ Why did u barely eat your food?!” That came off as rude. She didn’t have to ask but I know it was her job but ofc I couldn’t tell her that the food was disgusting! So we lied and went on our way. I think she didn’t have to say it so rude and get into our personal lives after giving her a 20$ tip. I know I know it was her job but rude! Never coming back...
