The Corner Deli — Restaurant in Hamden

After being a customer for 10 years I sent my daughter in for a corned beef Reuben and a salad she also got herself a Italian sub I know that when you add things there are up Chargers but when she came home and told me it was $67 I was floored I knew that couldn't be right I tried calling but they had already closed for the evening and I was told that there was five sandwiches that were on the receipt I explained to them the two sandwiches that I had gotten and the salad I was overcharged by $26 I think what happened was the register was probably not cleared out from the customer prior but I was told that they don't make mistakes and that they get people everyday trying to get free food I asked to talk to the manager I put in a dispute with my bank but of course I couldn't prove at that point that we had only gotten two sandwiches and a salad unfortunately they have lost a long-standing customer not only was the manager rude but she also called me a liar buyer beware check your receipts before you leave the store because you will not get a positive response it's a shame that a real good Delicatessen that used to make awesome food also the Ruben was on The Panini and there was a layer of Grease on the bread The Corned Beef was very stringy the Italian sub was fine and the salad was good too bad there are people working there with attitudes I am extremely disappointed I will not be making the trip...

Wow first time going there today was craving a chicken cutlet sub and was in the area stopped in first off it’s spotless in there very clean you can even see in the kitchen that it’s so clean. Girl who took my order was very nice helped with any questions I had. I did get it to go and ate at home so it was sitting for maybe 15 min and I will tell you this was one of the best chicken cutlet subs I’ve ever had in my life! Absolutely amazing! And that’s after sitting for 15 min! I forgot the name but it was under one of their speciality subs I believe it was called the Chris sub or something along those lines. Chick cutlet perfectly cooked nice crispy crust, prosciutto fresh mozz they are very generous with the mozz which I love, and pesto mayo which is out of this world! I also added roasted red peppers and some balsamic drizzle. All put between a perfectly toasted ciabatta bread. AMAZING!!!! I CANT DESCRIBE IT ANY OTHER WAY THAN AMAZING! Jaime, and his all-star staff, which includes one of his daughters, always do a great job, and personalize their service for every customer! The sandwiches, soups, and salads are made fresh to order with fresh ingredients prepped daily. Their Daily Specials menu always has something for me. I personally LOVE their coconut chicken sandwich special, known as "the Derek." Otherwise my go-to sandwich off their regular menu is the Keating Wrap, which is also served as a salad. The breads for their sandwiches come from Jaime's award-winning bakery, Bread and Chocolate, located also here in Hamden, on Whitney Avenue, now run by his wife and his other daughter.
