Checkers — Restaurant in Hamilton Township

I LOVE Checkers! What a great example of COMMUNITY SUPPORT! Starting with the owner to the staff; I cannot thank them enough! Not only is the food delicious, the service spectacular but the true level of SUPPORT and dedication they have shown the community since arriving is something to be recognized and acknowledged. I am the current President for the Nottingham High School PTSA and when Checkers opened I stopped by to welcome them to the community and introduced myself. I asked them if they would be interested in partnering with us for their FIRST Dine and Donate fundraiser to help our school and the students and teachers we serve within the community and they IMMEDIATELY say yes without hesitation. Paul, one of the owners, even offered for us to fundraise on their official opening day when they would have the ribbon cutting ceremony! What a beautiful gesture we thought that was.

Our schools, our PTA's and PTSA's simply cannot do what we do without community support like theirs. Truly, I have to say THANK YOU to Paul and the Checkers family on Sloan Ave in Hamilton, NJ! Thank you for helping us raise $1,200 for Nottingham High School's PTSA where every penny goes directly to the students and teachers we serve; motivational speakers, post prom, teacher grants, senior awards, etc.! Imagine the difference partnerships like theirs can and will have for our community and they are JUST getting started! Truly on a path of helping to make a positive difference within OUR community. Paul, to you and your staff; THANK YOU for being so kind and generous! We simply cannot thank you enough and we want you to know you are more than appreciated! My recent visit the chicken tenders were rock hard and cold. the hot dog looked like it was rancid and discolored. Fries and burger were cold. A completely inedible meal and utterly upset and frustrated with my experience at this restaurant. When I called they told me all the food was made fresh, but if that's the case they need to re-evaluate the way they run their restaurant. The person on the phone argued with me and said the chicken was fresh, while I was knocking the chicken strips against the table so they could hear how hard and inedible they were.

Do not recommend this restaurant. They are consistently bad at their job and serve terrible quality food.

Full disclosure: Checkers reached out and offered to replace my messed up meal and I've also paid for a meal myself now as well.

They've improved their service greatly since my first experience. The food was fresh and hot and the service was quick and friendly. I can't say they won't slip up again, but its clear they're trying to improve their service.

Not sure if it's under new management or what, but I would say it's worth a shot if you're in the area and hungry.

They still needed to cleanup the place a bit (still looked like they're partly under construction my last visit) but they're on the rigth path.

Old review: The restaurant is open but you can barely tell from outside with all the construction and the face that the front room of the restaurant was filled with garbage bags when I stopped by, not a good look. I ordered in the drive through and the girl on the headset was friendly, but they didn't put my sauces in the bag, the food was all cold by the time I got it, and they put my fries in the bag upside down so they dumped all over inside the bag. It was later when I ordered, but this shouldn't mean this kind of terrible service. They need to get their act together if they want...

The owner was on property. He took our order. Very friendly and personable. His crew was fast, efficient, accurate and friendly with smiles on their faces & courtesy in their voices. Best experience we've had at a Checkers ever! We always stop in Checkers while traveling, We've been to several locations during our traveling....If we see Checkers, we stop becauseits somethingwe will all eat. Some have been absolutely horrible. But this location is fantastic! We drive all over when we travel. This location is by our old House in Hamilton. Our son still lives in the area & we have friends of 20 years throughout the area....we will definitely be spreading the word about this amazing location! Fresh hot food with a friendly, courteous owner & the same goes for his employees. It's a clean place that's always something we look for when we eat out. Doesn't get better than that for us! We will be back & sending our family & friends to this location for sure! Sorry, I don't have pictures to share... we ate it all in my truck in the parking lot before leaving the review & there wasn't a piece of chicken, a fry (Had the Garlic parm fries yummy!)
