UNO Pizzeria & Grill — Restaurant in Hamilton Township

I haven't been to an Uno in years, but with this one so close to my gym my wife and I decided to grab takeout the other day. I've always liked them, and this visit reignited that - not sure why it's been so long. I know that people can sometimes be hesitant to visit chains, and sometimes I'm guilty of that, but this is not a place that you should worry about.

Their food is consistently good, not typical chain restaurant quality at all. On top of that, they have good prices and friendly staff. I also like the indoor atmosphere and will hopefully eat in restaurant soon, but like I said my latest visit was just to grab our food to-go. There's really not many places to get good Chicago-style deep dish pizza around, so we snagged a deal and each made our own personal size pie. Mine with mushrooms, goat cheese, and spinach was packed with flavor and our favorite of the two, although both were very tasty. Aside from the sauce and toppings, the crust was very nice as well, even after a half hour car ride home. I'm sure the pizza is even better fresh out of the oven while eating there. Came with a friend on a Thursday for dinner. Wasn't crowded at all which is great. Staff was friendly. Our waitress seemed informed on the cocktails when I asked which weren't too sweet. I took her recommendations with the Windy City Hurricane and the cosmo. The drinks came out super fast. Windy city was boozy and refreshing only slightly sweet which was perfect. The cosmo was a bit sweeter but still good. Wasn't as boozy as the hurricane.

I ordered the aged cheddar & mushroom burger. Didn't have to wait long at all for the entrées to arrive. Overall the burger was seasoned well and had nice flavor. It was just REALLY greasy. Sooo much grease dripping from the burger. The fries are also the thicker cut and they were unfortunately not crispy. The pickle that comes with the burger is much needed with how oily the burger was.

Got simple ice cream for dessert. It was good. We asked the waitress for separate checks but guess she forgot and just did a combined check. No biggie just annoying.

We were a group of 40 on a bus tour to NYC from NC. We had reservations for dinner on our first night. This wait staff could not have been more accommodating. In less than 5 minutes after sitting down one waiter took our food order and another our drink order. Drinks were delivered immediately and food followed within a very short time. The wait staff continuously came by every table asking if there was anything we needed and when we did, it was there quickly. They were smiling, friendly, and cordial to all of the group. I might also add, there was a larger group that came into the restaurant just after our arrival and those waiters didn't miss a step. Plus, the restaurant overall had it's regular Friday night customers. I gave the food 4 stars only because to me 5 stars means above and beyond excellent and the food, though it was good, didn't meet my assessment.
