So, I have been going to Smoothie King for the past couple of years. I never wrote a review because it is hard to know what to say.
But I think I have an idea now.
Out of all the smoothie places I have tried, including spots in NYC, Smoothie King is my favorite. The reason it's my favorite is because their smoothies are thicker and sometimes have an icy crunch to them.
Smoothies from other stores are boring in comparison. A smoothie from a restaurant or vendor tends to be thin and watery. It is literally just blended fruit.
But Smoothie Kings adds a few extra ingredients to make the consistency more like a milkshake, slush puppy combo (remember slush puppies?)
The kids they hire are well trained, professional and accomodating. Sometimes you'll get the rookie that didn't hear you clearly or needs you to repeat what you said, but they are never rude with a tude.
You can customize your smoothies to add additional fruit or ingredients, and the list of smoothies to choose from is massive. In fact, one of the biggest drawbacks of smoothie king is that their menu can be overwhelming. There is too much to choose from and it can be discouraging for new people or undecided customers.
Whether your smoothie tastes good or a little off is unfortunately dependent on the season. You will never get an awful smoothie but there are times when the cocoa is too bitter or the strawberries are not sweet enough.
Either way, if you're a fan of smoothies and prefer a drink with a bit more thickness and flavor, then you should...
Read moreI've been a loyal customer of Smoothie King for my morning commute, and while it's my go-to spot for breakfast, I've had some frustrating experiences. As someone who relies on to-go orders through the app, I've encountered multiple instances where my smoothie is missing ingredients that I paid extra for.
Just today, I ordered a pumpkin smoothie with almond butter, banana, energy boost, and diet down. Unfortunately, it didn’t taste like almond butter or banana at all, making me doubt that any of the extras I ordered were included. This isn’t the first time—I've had a similar experience with a banana smoothie where the added spinach was clearly missing as the smoothie was not green, even though I was charged for it.
The staff is always friendly, and the manager has been quick to resolve issues, even offering a free smoothie as compensation. However, I only place to-go orders through the app, and I don't have the ability to come into the store to order and wait for a replacement (I’m a commuter). This makes it challenging for me to take advantage of the offer, which is disappointing.
I really want to continue being a regular customer, but these repeated mistakes are frustrating. I hope Smoothie King can improve its quality control so I can enjoy my breakfast without...
Read moreI come here often and always place the same order over the phone for pick up it’s usually a little slow and disorganized but i often overlook that, despite their high prices.
The most recent time I went, I placed my order, and was told it would be ready when I arrived. I arrive 15 minutes later and then wait in about a 10 minute line.
When it’s my turn, i tell them My name and the order, they look for about 2 minutes and tell me “sorry it didn’t get made, but ya know it’s a Friday so...” whatever that’s supposed to mean.
Normally I wouldn’t leave a harsh review but the complete lack of care by the staff after 30 minutes of wait time is what gets me, especially when combined with the high prices and overall lack of effort put forward on a regular basis.
Won’t be coming back here, there’s a Tropical smoothie Cafe...
