Located in the same building as Sabzi Mandi it a tiny place with a guy serving halal meat from a counter that weird due to its contents on offer for sale such as chops with meat on the chop just the bones . This restaurant was empty at lunchtime and that should have been a clue but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. It is with deep regret having to write this because we were met with very shady service and incompetent cooking during our first visit. We ordered shinwari karahi and chicken dumb ( slowly cooked) biryani and little did these guys know that we are professional restaurant owners who ran very successful restaurants for years. Culinary Arts College educated people who can cook most authentic dishes . We were not served with any karahi dish instead these guys decided to give us bones left over from goat chops curry from the previous day and added so much thick sauce using onions and tomatoes to mask the bones so you had this dish full of overpowering tomatoes with bones sticking out to make it look there was meat in there. The chicken biryani was tasteless because it looked like they added flavorless pieces of chicken to rice afterwards, chicken made from battery hens which were smelling that “poultry smell” which comes from cheap chicken not thoroughly brined and washed . We are very civil people and realized we had been conned like never before in any restaurants ( we visit many ) so we left gracefully. This was pure dishonesty and pretense because shinwari karahi is never cooked like a salad (curry) laden with a thick tomatoes sauce and why put bones in a dish if you have no meat when you are selling halal meat from the same place ! This type of shady behavior destroys reputation and businesses. If a customer order a dish and you don’t have just say so honesty. Extremely sad to experience such horrible service and surprised that they thought they could get away with such “...
Read moreAs a customer it’s always great to experience a new restaurant in your local area. However what you don’t expect is how family friendly some owners can be. When my Mom and I open the door we were immediately greeted and asked what we’d like today. The menu was so intriguing, yet it’s very easy to get overwhelmed by the countless options. Nonetheless, our indecisiveness didn’t stop Amna from answering the call. She directed us based on the type of food we are accustomed to. Whether it was the type of meat, spices, sides, etc. No matter what, she weathered our brainstorm of questions that we had and steered us into the direction of the prefect dish we’d like. When we finally got home and tried it, my mother had felt as if she was eating right back at the homeland. Truly a work of art, both Amna’s charisma and customer service displayed. In addition the food had landed on our taste buds. Highly recommended to friends and viewers....
Read moreBought meat from this store around 7 PM last night, and by 10 AM the next morning, it was already smelling bad and had an off color. Clearly not fresh and possibly unsafe to eat. What’s worse is that this is the second time this has happened to me — so it’s not just a one-off issue. Extremely disappointed with the quality. It feels like the meat was already going bad when sold. Definitely not coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re expecting fresh, properly...
