El Jalapeño — Restaurant in Hamilton Township

!!!!This is an update, actually not really an update I'm just here to confirm that this place is still delicious I still come and I'll never stop,,,I'm going out of my range here I've been here twice and I'm giving it five stars normally it's got to be three but damn this food is good the young lady that's been there both times I didn't get her name I will the next time she's phenomenal the food is great looks good taste good this time I had the nacho supreme with chicken wow very good and they had a special which I hope they run some more it was tacos birria,,, she had said it was a trial run to see how it went it was basically shredded beef seasoned up and a reddish taco shell soft shell which was toasted and you got some consomme with it that's the broth if you don't know and let me tell you WOW, I hope it's something she brings back more often and hopefully I'll be lucky enough to be in there when she does my first time around I had gotten the nachos supreme also and I had also gotten a mixed fajita I had gotten chicken steak and shrimp that was also very good I'm sorry I don't have pictures it just smelled and tasted so good I didn't even think about it go here if you have the chance I don't think you'll be disappointed it's one of my favorite types of places nickname like a hole in the wall that's a small place using a shopping center strip mall oh my goodness I know I'll be back for round number three you have to go it's awesome and good job to the young lady and whoever else does the...

The salad used to be good here, but the language barrier can be challenging lately. I feel it has gotten much worse recently. I called and just asked for 2 salads with just lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, jalapeños, shrimp, and dressing. Both salads with no taco shell. They put them in a shell anyway. (Even after repeating “no shell?” back to me over the phone). They then put AN ENTIRE PLATE of rice and beans right under my salad. I hate rice, and I am also trying to diet and just eat salads. I was so upset because I got two salads and I had to pay over $20 for plates of rice and beans with lettuce ontop. I repeated my order about four times over the phone, and reiterated it just in case they wanted to make sure. I SPECIFICALLY SAID NO RICE. They still got it wrong. This, by the way, also happened to me twice. My last two visits. My husband was not happy the second time and said he does not want to go back. I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, I have to give it only two stars. The ambiance and decor were great and the staff were friendly throughout my visit. However, the food left much to be desired. My wife and I ordered the burritos, which had a noticeably unsavory taste that lingered with an unpleasant aftertaste. It was far from the fresh, vibrant flavors I expect from good Mexican cuisine. To accompany my meal, I chose one of their juice drinks, but it was disappointingly syrupy and lacked the natural freshness I was hoping for. After I left the restaurant I began to feel stomach discomfort shortly after my meal, and I’m compelled to share my experience from a rather unpleasant vantage point — as I write this review from the toilet.
