Ginger Thai, conveniently located in a bustling shopping area with ample parking and surrounded by diverse dining options, offers a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is attentive, accommodating reservations, and genuinely friendly, creating a pleasant dining experience.
For those seeking vegetarian and vegan choices, Ginger Thai provides a commendable selection. We indulged in a variety of dishes, including flavorful Thai iced coffee, crispy spring rolls, and savory fried chive vegetable dumplings with a spicy garlic sauce. The Tom Yum soup, while enjoyable, lacked the distinct bamboo flavor often associated with this classic dish.Main courses consisted of flavorful Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad Thai with tofu, and Red Curry with tofu and vegetables.
While all dishes were well-presented and served in generous portions, a subtle "something" seemed to be missing in the overall taste of each, leaving us wanting more authentic Thai flavors.
The Mango Sticky Rice dessert proved to be a delightful conclusion to the meal.
Overall: Ambience: 4 stars (Pleasant and comfortable)
Vegetarian Options: 4 stars (Good selection available)
Service: 4 stars (Friendly and attentive)
Taste: 3 stars (While enjoyable, lacked the full depth of authentic Thai flavors)
Portion Size: 5 stars (Generous portions)
It is a decent option for a casual meal, especially if you're looking for a friendly atmosphere and a good selection of vegetarian dishes. However, those seeking an authentic Thai culinary experience might find the flavors slightly...
Read moreWe ordered through DoorDash, and the driver was 45 minutes late picking up our order. Thai Ginger called to inform us that the food had been sitting for a while. We agreed to pick it up ourselves and drove 20 minutes to the restaurant.
Fifteen minutes away, we called the restaurant to confirm our arrival and said we would cancel the DoorDash order and pay directly. They agreed. However, while talking to DoorDash support, we learned our order had been picked up. Confused, we called the restaurant again, 5 minutes away, and they confirmed they had given the food to the driver despite our prior agreement.
The restaurant employee we spoke with insisted it wasn't their fault since they were a third party. He didn't apologize for making us drive there unnecessarily and instead defended his actions as a good deed.
If the restaurant truly cared about its customers, they would have apologized for their mistake and taken responsibility for the inconvenience. A simple apology could have prevented this review.
To the owners of Thai Ginger: do better next time. If you insist on being a third party, do not contact...
Read moreI'm so mad at myself for not turning around and walking out after the smell of the place hit my nose. It smelled like a backed up septic tank. I told my mom and my sister that there was no way I would be able to eat in there with that smell. But, I still ordered food (chicken and shrimp pad thai), it smelled like dog food. My daughter kept gagging and said she couldn't eat it. Not to mention the fact that people who came in after us were being served before us (iykyk). The food just added insult to injury. I left out before the bill came because I just couldn't take sitting in that funk anymore. The whole experience was horrible. I gave the service 2 stars because they did try to be nice and engaging, but the fact that people that came in after me were served before me was a major turn off. I have never had Thai before so I thought I would give it a shot, but after this experience I will never eat it again. I am just so pissed that I spent $60 (total bill was over $200) on some food that I didn't eat. I truly regret not listening to my instincts and leaving after that smell...
