All I can say is amazing! This place has a lot going on and everything about it is awesome! I went in for the first time on a Wednesday not knowing what to expect. That night there was a Dj. Dj Angela from shift entertainment. She is the complete package! Her music knowledge is out of this world. She was playing singo with the crowd and there was a singo card on every table! After a few games of singo she went right into karaoke. Behind the bar was the friendly and hard working Kelsie. You could tell she really knew what she was doing. She had a packed bar rail and everyone still got amazing service! She smiled the entire time and made everyone feel welcomed. Around the dining room Julia and Cassidy were engaged and helpful with all the guests. They were careful not to interrupt the singo game going on but kept the glasses full and the food coming! Smiling the whole time they were easy to talk to and charming. The atmosphere at Gina's is coming from the head down. I had a chance to meet the owner (Gina) and her sister Nancy. All I can say is these two are hard working, friendly, confident, and outgoing. They really lead by example and help to put a cherry on top to really let everyone know this is a well run establishment!
I went back the following week for dinner. It was a Monday crowd and for dinner rush they were busy. Not so busy you couldn't get a table but certainly you could tell this kitchen really draws a crowd. I am Italian and I always warn Italian cooks I can't tell them how they did because they will always be compared to grandma and ma. But here at Gina's her recipes are all fresh and she has a style of her own! I could pick out some flavors like the red wine vinegar on the Italian house salad. Others were a mystery to me. I loved it! I had the lasagna and garlic bread. If you aren't familiar with cooking you need to know the best cooks pick the best ingredients and Gina really does! Carrie provided me service and she was wonderful. Humorous and hard working she never stopped smiling the whole night really letting everyone know how much she enjoys working with Gina.
Kudos to all the staff at this restaurant. Please visit Gina's and be sure to be ready to leave 20% this staff...
Read moreMy family arrived and everything was going great at first. We ordered wings as an appetizer for our family and they came out very late because the cooks messed the order up. We then get our pizza and the toppings were all wrong. We finally got our wings and they were very good. However the pizza was way too cheesy. We did not get plates to eat our pizza on. We asked our waitress for plates and 10 mins went by and still no plates. I had to directly go inside to ask for plates just to put our pizza slices on.
After all of this, I asked to speak directly to Gina to speak about the service we were receiving and she came out. She just said "sorry for the inconvenience and they are short staffed." However, 3 or 4 of the waitresses that were working there, were literally taking smoke breaks outside every 10 mins. Where they take smoke breaks is right near to where people sit on the patio too, so the smoke was blowing near us. It was pretty gross.
I understand that mistakes happen and they did afterall make it right (wings and pizza). Regarding having enough staff, if they were truly "short staffed," perhaps limiting your staff smoke breaks would be a good start.
I would have appreciated some type of discount or something. It's a very cool place with a great selection of food and craft beer. It has a small hometown feel that brings me back to memories of when I used to go there as a child. Unfortunately, our experience just wasn't great...
Read moreAn old-style small family restaurant with excellent authentic Italian food. The restaurant's not fancy but the food is so good and the service was wonderful. We started with the Italian House Salad. It sounds simple but the little extras like homemade slaw, "green" onion, and olives take it over the top. And Gina's Italian Dressing is just the way I like it, heavy on the red wine vinegar. For the main course, we had the Alfredo with fried chicken and The Godfather (Italian sausage, peppers, onion, mostaccioli, red sauce), both baked with cheese (do it!). Both were awesome. The first bite was complete comfort. The Alfredo sauce was fantastic, not too thick or thin, and not over spiced or too cheesy. Definitely one of my all-time favorite Alfredo's. The Godfather was also fantastic with the spicy sausage and the perfect blend of everything else. The garlic bread was unbelievable. Again it seems simple but the toasted thin bread dripping with oil (butter?) and smeared with fresh garlic is the best garlic bread I have ever had. The service was totally awesome. Everyone was friendly, helpful, attentive, and fast. The place was moderately crowded for a Monday night. I'm sure it's a long wait on weekends but worth it. Parking can also be a challenge but also worth the effort. Highly...
