We just left here on a beautiful Saturday at lunchtime, had never been here before. The place was nearly empty. We ordered only two sandwiches, the "fresh lox with cream cheese and onions" (for 8.00), and an egg and cheese sandwich (for 3.50). When the food was brought over to our table, the egg sandwich was on a paper plate, mine was on a decorative china plate. That seemed weird, but whatever. The egg and cheese sandwich was fine, but the "fresh lox" was another story. There were tiny paper thin flecks of curly brown dried at the edges lox, scattered over the bagel. Not even enough to cover half of it, there were literally way more onions than lox. I was disappointed, didnt even have enough lox to make half a sandwich, but it was so old and nasty it didnt matter. I left for the car-my son went to pay, and they asked him if everything was okay and he said actually there were hardly any lox on the sandwich, and they were thin, brown, and dry. The guy had the gall to say "yea, thats how they make it".Then to add insult to injury, he was charged 3.75 for a sandwich that was clearly marked 3.50 (in massive letters on the sign on the wall), and when he pointed it out to them they just shrugged. It is a shame, because the inside is comfortable, there is also outside seating on a little patio, the bagels were fresh, the menu selection looked good, and the prices seemed reasonable (until you find out that they are not giving you a reasonable sandwich). I would also rather have paid at the counter when we ordered than have to wait again at the counter to pay to leave. The customer service was lousy, they really dont care even though hardly anyone was there. I think the problems could be fixed, but on a Saturday morning, if you dont have the supplies, tell the customer you are out, dont charge for something you are not going to serve. We will not...
Read moreAlways love to come here. Great food and great prices! Also, the employees are exceptional. 👍 the only reason I am giving them four stars instead of 5 and also posting a warning is because of a rather BAD experience that I did have when going here the last time.. and I never went back to talk to someone and report it.. but I suppose this could happen at any restaurant at any time.. So my warning is just to always know what you are supposed to be spending before you swipe that card. I had an experience while I was being rang up... I was about to hand the young girl (who shall remain nameless for the review) my card and I hesitated when she told me the total. my fiance and I shared a meal and after everything is should have been $12 to $15 tops.. I knew this in my head.. and when she told me it was going to be $28 I wouldn't let go of my card. So I asked her to double-check and it ended up my total was $13 and she apologized.. (like it was no big deal) so, honestly I didn't think NO TIP would be no big deal.. for her. That's a $15 difference.. even if she"accidentally" did this to every customer for $5.. it'd definitely set her up good by closing time. I wouldn't have been too upset if it'd been an ACCIDENT but by her reaction it didn't feel like an accident. Just KNOW how much you are paying before you swipe. But other than that.. always a great place, great...
Read moreWent there today and there are a number of items on the menu that they don't carry. When I mentioned that that is disappointing the lady who worked at the counter just walked away. She acted like I'm some untouchable peasant. However, she said that I was the one who was condescending. Then when I realized that they had literally nothing that I wanted and acted like I was untouchable I just walked out. As I walked out the lady started saying how I was condescending and how they work very hard, which has nothing to do with the fact that the owner, who prints his menus at home (not that that is a problem, it doesn't need to be a professionally printed menu) is too lazy to take things off the menu.
Then I was walking out, after I told the lady that she needs to stop taking her frustration out on customer, some old guy got all worked up and threatened me. Not that I was concerned about some old guy threatening me, but it's just disturbing that this place even stays in business. I'm a local and was never a fan of the place. Food is overpriced and mediocre at best. But you add to it an crazy lady who is working with the customer, yet has literally zero skills whatsoever to deal with people.
Is it too much to ask that the menu be updated? Is it too much to ask to not have pathetic people work...
