I visited this place on Sunday after attending Blueberry Festival @ Hammonton High Scool. The only reason I went to this place was to have a late lunch because I visited this once 5 years ago. However, much of the big hype and over 1k reviews are very deceiving. So let's start with my review:
Atmosphere: As we walked in, the place was pack, however, we did get an empty table within 5 minutes. Seats were unclean, so I had to wipe it down manually. Live music was too loud and not good for conversations. Thumbs up for live musician. He was a good singer and a good voice, but the restaurant should keep the speaker down a bit. Service: So many employees but poor customer service and took forever. I asked for water with lemon and no ice, and it took about a good 17 minutes and cane with no lemon and a dirty glass. I had to wait another 5 minutes to have that glass replaced. Unhygienic. It just turned me off for the main course. Food: Ordered Burrito and Quesedias. Screwed up my order. Instructions were given to have no cheese and no onions. They both cane up ample cheese and onion. Now, I had to wait for another another 15+ minutes. By the time I got my corrected order, I had already lost my appetite and had it packed to go.
I would not recommend this place because it's unhygienic, poor service and food is below average. It tatsed nothing like an authentic mexican restaurant but more like an average American grill. Absolutely missing on flavors and spices. More on the. I don't know why this place has over 1k reviews. This place needs a new owner with an authentic mexican chef.
In addition, NJ Health Department should visit this place for inspection without notice because of unhygienic practice and needs to be shut down if...
Read moreService was terrible! Arrived at 8pm for a reservation of 10 for a birthday dinner. They told our guest we were not there when in fact we were already seated. They had to seek us out. Waitress took our orders and got all the appetizers wrong and it took them a hour to come out (9pm) Waitress came back at 9:30pm with no entrees and when asked for napkins she disappeared again. We had a hungry 6 yr old with us who by this time was crying because she was hungry. Waiter showed up at 10pm with our entrees and had those wrong. Then the STAFF continued to look at us as in rushing us because they wanted to close but we had just received our food. The steak tacos were horrible bland and very hard. We asked for corn tortillas they brought flour not knowing they were serving two chefs who knew the difference then went on to speak badly in Spanish not knowing half our party was Spanish. At this point we asked for the check and asked that certain things be taken off because they were not what we asked for or just plain disgusting we got some more dirty looks and talked about some more in Spanish. Then when we asked for the BIRTHDAY cake that we brought with us and they were supposed to bring out 1 of the waitresses said oh I think we gave it to someone else. They did 20 more minutes of searching for our cake and finally found it now going on 10:37pm. This was a horrible experience. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! If I could give it zero stars I would! And if you do dine there make sure you understand Spanish because they like to talk about their guests unknowing that it is 2019 and many people...
Read moreIt is now safer to go out for diner. I realized that since moving back to NJ in January, we had not had Mexican food for a long time. A couple of weeks ago, we were driving around. We saw this intriguing little Mexican restaurant as we went home through Hammonton on one of our outings, so when we decide to move there and have dinner, the problem we left our house a little after 8 in Galloway. We got there, and they were open and lots of folks eating then they said that they are available later on the weekends. The Food they come out hot fresh and delicious, everything we ordered was excellent starting with new chips with 3 type of dips, then the Guacamole came out again with the freshly made chip. Fresh and delicious with the right amount of seasoning, my better half she had rolled your tortillas with a delicious mole sauce, and I had a delightful Mexican Burrito made with eggs, sausage jalapeños peppers and a lovely red sauce not only was it excellent it was gigantic. Our server made us feel welcomed and answered our questions; she was very attentive. Then on top of that, the proprietor of the restaurant, Roberto, came out and asked us if everything was good and thanked us for coming. A little of that human touch goes a long way to making a guest feel welcome, and the food and service could not have been better. I would recommend anyone to try Nuevo El Mariachi Loco will also have a great...
