Johnny Joe's Sports Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Hampden Township

I love Johnny Joes other than the nights when “Mike the Bouncer” is working the door. I guess out of nowhere he made up his own “house rules” that they only accept Scannable id’s. I have been frequenting Johnny Joes for a while now, and have showed this same bouncer on multiple occasions my Valid form of identification time after time (my passport) and have never had a single issue. I have always been respectful, came in with a friend or two, had a few drinks, took care of the bartenders, and left on great terms, Always. So when all of a sudden Mr.mike the bouncer tells me that i am unable to get into the bar because of a “house rule” not accepting passports ALL OF A SUDDEN, it’s just really disappointing… I have money to spend and wanted to take my business to Johnny Joes and I was forced by Mike to go elsewhere tonight bc of a made up rule and his power trip. Other than this particular bouncer, I love going to Johnny Joes, i always have a great time there, if they fix this issue with the bouncer, i would give this place 5...

Honestly, I don’t know what I was expecting when I went to see my friends’ band play, but it wasn’t what I intended. Great times for my friends and I! I didn’t know it was a smoking bar, which was my fault entirely. As someone with asthma, that should’ve been something I looked into.

Now, the bartenders. Looked stressed out, but what could I say, it was busy, and everywhere is understaffed, so we waited patiently for our drinks. We understood as a collective, and we didn’t mind the wait at all. He was friendly. Great person! Let me say this, you pay for what you get. Make sure you know your limit, and preferably, have a DD, reliable ride home, or Uber/Lyft/taxi.

Somehow was picking up women, had a great time, buzzed for a majority of the time, and jumped on stage once. Apparently, a lot of people got to hold one of my legs at some point. Recommend you try it...

I just left Johnny Joe’s. I was only there for about 20 minutes total and it was only my second time in. The bartender didn’t even acknowledge us until 15 mins in, barking at us for ID’s. Which we didn’t give her any issues. Then went back to the bar a shortly after just to see what else they had to offer and the bartender barked at me again saying that I couldn’t have the bottle I was holding in there. I then looked at my bottle and said water? She said yeah I don’t know what’s in that and she told me that I looked like a smuggler. This bartender has super short hair with glasses. She’s extremely rude. I had just come in from being out in the cold and I had my winter coat and beanie on…not sure how I look like a smuggler but that’s crazy that she totally judged me on my appearance. It honestly sounded personal and that’s not how you should treat...
