We used to go to this place more often before they did their remodel. I think they increase their menu prices after their remodeling because theyâre trying desperately to justify increasing prices. Nobody asked them to put in 20 televisions on their walls which distract children from conversation in any direction they look.
Nobody ask them for a giant, loud jukebox that plays over the 20 televisions that are playing in all directions, preventing familyâs from hearing each other while trying to get a meal.
Nobody asked for them to shrink there fonts down to seven point, just slightly bigger than the fine print on the back of your credit cards. Also, there are no images in their menu, which makes it hard to understand what youâre ordering because the way they laid out their new menu doesnât sound very descriptive of a meal, but sounds more like a shopping list for each menu item. I was reading the menu last night with my father and my niece and nephews, who are under the age of 10 and some of the sections we couldnât figure out what we were going to order because it looks more like an ingredients list that a descriptive meal.
The tables come with legs that unscrew at the bottom so you can level them off if one of them is an even, I donât get how it is that restaurants all have wiggly tables in 2024 still relying on matches for people.
We spent something like $60 yesterday, getting a pizza, and a kids, chicken wings, three waters and one soda. that was before tipping.
Like there was nothing on the menu that was cheap, and an item that could serve as a hook to lure people in. Nothing thatâs been a favorite long time standing item that hasnât changed or changed in price. I seriously donât understand where restaurants getting their head that itâs OK to charge 20 something dollars for a plate of spaghetti. If you literally donât spend the entire morning cooking sauce on a low simmer like my parents and grandparents did when I was growing up in an Italian household, there is no reason to charge $20 for a basic dish of pasta in canned spaghetti sauce. Absolutely no justification for that.
Personally, I did not want to go to this restaurant because Iâve seen their prices increase over the last few years since the pandemic and theyâre remodeling and Iâve not been a fan. I only went because my father took me and my niece and nephew. We were very content on spending quality time at home cooking dinner together as a small family, but my father wanted to go out and it was his money as he offered to pay for it. Otherwise I would not have gone to dine into...
Read moreMy family has had many good experiences until tonight. Turns out when a family of 4 comes in at 7pm and a kid would like one of the slices Gio's is known for, they can't have it. You are forced to order full pizzas. So, we did. My wife has an onion allergy. Waitress (who was incredible and worked her ass off) made note it. The pizza came out and half had onions all over. My kids each has a couple slices feom the non onion side. The waitress apologized and had a new pizza made. In the mean time, the owners came out and turned up Music so loud that conversation was impossible- many people complained. I threw some money in the jukebox (touch tunes online). It was happy to take money but never played our songs. I asked our waitress about it and it turns out it was the owners music playing, not the jukebox sitting there happily taking money from people. There was also a point where our waitress spent a few minutes arguing with ownership about the pizza being wrong. I've never seen a place with ownership that actively works against their customers. Well be back, but it's going...
Read moreI haven't been here in a while but never bothered to review it. Decided to give one last chance but was met with the same terrible service. Too bad because the food is solid. More than three times, it took over 20 minutes to even be acknowledged, nevermind to take our order. And two of those times, we were there before they stopped taking orders but by the time they came over to use they rudely said we're no longer serving food. They were like 25 minutes ago! Seems rather clicky. If you're not a regular from Hampden, just forget it. Don't waste your Don't waste your money. Very disappointed with...
