I went this morning to get a turkey sausage sandwich and a soy cappuccino. The girl working the front desk was very friendly. She was so detail oriented, I have never seen someone make a breakfast sandwich and cappuccino with so much care. It's not like some chain place where they slop your sandwich in a bag, with the top hanging off. The bagel, was a real one, didn't taste like some generic one. The cheese, was perfect-not too much, not too little. Even the egg they used, had REAL yoke to it. The drink was just as crafty assembled. One of the best soy cappuccino's I'd ever had! I watched her as she made the cappuccino, she was very exact and professional.
I don't her long term career goals (she was young), but kudos to you for taking such care in mastering what you do! You have great work ethic and remind me of one of my favorite quotes. "How you do anything...is how you do everything"!
My only suggestion is I hope the owner (who as was very friendly, and even offered to help me bring my breakfast to the car-I'm handicap, so it was a kind thing to offer) adds on the tip section to his Square card processing system. I asked her if I could add a tip with my card, she said it won't let her. I know it costs merchants more, but it helps reward your awesome employees, and doesn't make your customer's feel bad for not being able to tip (not many having cash on them-especially in Covid now).
She shrugged it off like it wasn't a problem (because she has class), but I think merchants should have it (heck create some "widget" to "sell", and let them use that as a tip option if you need to). I ended up finding a buck in-between my receipts, but would love to see it.
They roast their own coffee, it also excellent. It's rare to find a place with good coffee, good food, and good service. I'm so glad we have BHC! Please tell her job...
Read moreIf anyone knows good coffee roasting and espresso - they know Blue Harbor Provides some of the best quality in New England. A few things that make a great coffee shop is the staff, atmosphere, COFFEE, and service. Blue Harbor has it all. The staff is always friendly and easy to talk for customer service needs. It seems like every person that walks in is treated as family! The atmosphere is warm, laid back and is a great place for meetings, hangouts, leisure or space to get remote work done. The various coffee roasts and flavors give options to every level coffee connoisseur. The Orca Dark roast is my favorite grind to take home for my French Press. Other options like a fresh espresso shot or Americano gives all the flavor and caffeine kick you'll need to be satisfied! On top of all this, ( even though coffee is a main focus and the owner takes pride in his roasting ) they still offer great extras for other coffee shop goers like fresh breakfast sandwiches, bakery items and coffee accessories (mugs, bags decor etc). I came to Blue Harbor the second day they opened by a happenstance and have raved about it to my friends and family ever since. This coffee shop is a staple in the Hampton area and will be for years to come....
Read moreI stumbled by this gem of a place after having a delightful Thai meal next door at Thai House.
The coffee is outrageously good!! Upon entering, I was delighted by the smell of freshly roasted beans. The service was delightful and, I must compliment them on their excellent Iced Coffee Cake which I know they don't make in-house.
And then, guess who pops out from the kitchen? It's Coskun (AKA Josh-Kun), a fixture in the Portsmouth Coffee scene since the 90s. Every red-blooded seacoast resident knows, or should know his famous brother Yalcin who has owned and operated Kilims.
Coskun took me for a tour of his roasting operation and explained the complexities involved in achieving the perfect brew. His upbringing in Turkey, where coffee is culture, along with his understanding of the American palate has resulted in Coskun finding that sweet spot in the process that makes us all satisfied.
Restaurants!!!! Don't serve mediocre coffee....talk to "Josh" about using his beans...
