Went in a few weeks ago and couldn’t believe what I was hearing. A man, seemed to be the manager or owner, was talking to a bartender and he was sarcastic, condescending and downright rude to her! I’ve been debating writing this review because I’m sure it will fall on deaf ears. My husband and I go out to eat often and have never witnessed anything like this before. I felt terrible for the poor girl as she clearly looked stunned and seemed like she was going to cry. Besides that, the food was awful. The last few times I’ve gone in I haven’t had a good meal. I don’t think after this I’m going to try there again. It’s sad because I loved the flatbread pizzas and they’re off the menu. I was excited to try the fried food after they added it to the menu but each time I feel like it is worse than the time before. If you’re going to add fryers to the restaurant then the staff should be trained how to cook in them. The 401 never had fryers before last fall and that was one of the reasons we loved going there…it was different than a lot of other restaurants because of that. Now it’s just like every other restaurant…actually...
Read moreThe location deserves a 6 for atmosphere. It's really beautiful and interesting inside. Awesome place to get a drink. Food was meh. Started with chicken tenders, they were out of a box and took forever. Got the 401 mac with bacon, prime rib, and American dip. To me prime rib should be medium rare and that was what was asked for but was more medium well. No pink. Awesome Aju as a highpoint. Bacon mac was kinda bland and soupy. American dip was great, spread gave it an herb flavor and caramelized onion was tasty, tater tots were nice and crunchy. As mentioned aju was on point. Service was good and waitress was friendly. We were up on the wine deck where the kitchen was. They burned something in there and we smelt it the entire time. Overall I just really enjoyed the spot, the menu is chock full of comfort food and I had a hard time choosing. Great choice of beers. Overall I got the feeling they could use a better head chef, the location...
Read moreThe best way I can describe this place is it’s alright. My girlfriend and I came in on a Tuesday night because we saw that it was taco Tuesday. When we got there, the waiter said that it wasn’t. Instead we ordered spinach artichoke dip, chicken BLT tacos, and a Ruben.
The spinach artichoke dip was tasty, but cost ~$10. A bit expensive for what we got. The chicken BLT tacos were tasty and large, but again pretty expensive for 2 tacos ($12). The Ruben was good (very good corned beef), but was not stacked high at all and again, $12. I also thought it came with house chips, and I was very disappointed that it came with generic potato chips. I think that was my oversight, but still disappointing.
The beers were priced well (about $5 per beer), but the service was slow at best. I might come back, but it’s definitely not something worth going out of the way for. My girlfriend thought they deserved a 4, and I wish I could give a 3.5...
