So the beer is okay but after a day and a half to think I feel obligated to leave a review I'm in VA for my brother's wedding. He pre ordered a keg of his favorite beer We arrived the day before the wedding to pick up the keg. Informed by management the keg is not on site and they will have to drop ot off.. No biggie Wedding day comes and THANK GOD I tried to sneak a beer 3 hours before the ceremony because the tap was broken Again.. no biggie let's figure this out I go on Google to call the brewery.. they actually do not have a # listed (I just checked again the day after still can't find one) Someone says it's 5 minutes away let's go swap it out Hop in the car and drive over I walk to the counter, put down the tap and say "this tap has a blown seal we need a different tap" Dude clearly didn't know what to do and looked at the girl serving beer (a maybe 35-40 yr old woman with nice braids) She says to me "well did you call ahead?" I say "no we were 5 minutes away so we came by" Her response "well you're supposed to call in advance to make sure we have one we might not be able to help you" ...... HELLO WE BOUGHT A KEG AND THE WEDDING IS IN LITERAL HOURS I kind of bark at her and said " we were 5 minutes away and we bought this keg for a wedding and need a working tap.......... also we tried to call you guys don't list your #" So after waiting for them to call the owner and ASK IF THEYRE ALLOWED to replace the broken tap we did get a replacement but what kind of world does that woman live in?!? Did she just expect us to just move on and not drink the beer we bought?!? Absolutely TRASH employees with 0 care for customers standing in your bar wearing a suit and jacket needing to replace a broken item you provided so that we can actually drink the beer we already paid for 1/10 would...
Read moreOne of our favorite places to go in Hampton Roads! They always have a great selection of ciders, the staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Love the rotating selection of ciders, Fig 8 and Sandbar are my favorites! Also apprecite that there is always the original staples available as well, Ink Jet is always great. The seating outdoors is great all year (thanks for the heaters and fire pit!) Indoor seating is quaint and very comfortable. We can always count on a great food truck there to allow us to eat while enjoying delicious cider and great company. Love all the events and how they are growing as the business grows. We have bought and wear proudly several awesome shirts and drink out of the tumblers with their great logo! I have been especially impressed with how they have handled restrictions and guidelines during COVID. You can tell they care about the safety of thier customers and staff and want to provide the best service they can. We picked up cider often before the taproom was open and that was always a quick, easy, and safe and clean experience. And now thanks to their policies and cleanliness, this is one of the only public places I feel safe going for a "night out". Thank you to the bartenders, owners, and security personnel for all you do, Love being a loyal customer to such a...
Read moreI have historically had favorable experiences the few times Iâve been to this location or sampled the ciders at local festivals and distributing venues, especially as a non-beer drinker in a geographical area overloaded with breweries. However, the rudeness and disrespect of the two female staff members working on 7/11 was unfathomable. My family was visiting and I was looking forward to taking them them here. Unfortunately, the staff were very unwelcoming. There was no greeting, just angry stares as we walked through the door WITH MASKS ON (following all rules). It seemed as if we were getting the evil eye while we were perusing the selections. Needless to say, given the discomfort we felt by the employees, we left before even buying anything and went to Vanguard, where they were significantly more cordial and welcoming. If Sly Clydeâs does not want business, then they should stay closed until they can eventually resume normalcy and feel comfortable having guests on their premises without making everyone feel guilty and ashamed (although they might be out of business by the time that eventually comes). Sadly probably will not return. The drive to more distant VA cideries and wineries is worth it, to not be treated...
