VERY SLOW SERVICE!!! What happened to this once local 4âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ foodie gem? In my opinion, it has become painfully obvious this restaurant no longer values my business. As a local, I try to support this place and often pass over several other similar restaurants in the area because the food, service and drinks at one time were really actually good here. Iâve even invited friends and family to dine here with me. Some have returned independently to dine in, but have shared the same concerns. Unfortunately, I am so disappointed with the growing slow service here! They are so unorganized, the few servers are always running all over the place and recently they seem to choose who they want to wait on. You may have two servers approaching you but they donât work as a team and lately the ball just keep getting dropped.
On my last visit, I watched in horror as one of the servers who took my drink order was at the bar looking completely lost. Instead of making my drink, she kept touching her hair in distress, as she attempted to make her own drinks because there is NO bartender! The server didnât even seem to know how to make a simple Texas margarita and had to find help. She appeared to give up, left the bar and started walking around the restaurant serving others. The drink took so long, I was done with my DRY chips before finally getting the worst drink I have ever had there! It was so sweet I couldnât even drink it! She even admitted to adding some cheap, Gala liquor! Sorry, I had enough this time and decided to take my business elsewhere to salvage what was left of my night! After extending our final grace, my date and I left before ordering and decided to spend our hard earned money dining elsewhere. We ended up at the new Mexican restaurant in the JC Penneyâs shopping center. We had none of these issues there and even enjoyed some unexpected live music! We werenât abandoned or left to thirst to death and even received water, chips and two choices of salsas within the first minute without asking.
To The Partners/Owners: In my opinion, you should save your brand by stepping your game up or close down until you can properly operate because surely you are in need of more staff, training and some real re-organization. I understand that you were hiring recently, so perhaps you should also hire an operations manager and a real licensed bartender. It doesnât appear that your servers can handle even a small number of patrons without forgetting about some of them. Getting a table isnât the issue; My concern is that once you are seated, they tend to forget about you in the chaos. Sometimes you end up chasing them down to order your food or to pay for your meal so you can leave. When you express your concerns, the servers seem to lack empathy and become quite dismissive. Not sure if they are too overwhelmed to care or have simply taken customers for granted. It is my hope that you have not become haughty like many other businesses during your pandemic windfall, losing sight of the core values and principles that kept your pre-COVID customers coming back!
*I will fairly update my review once improvements...
Read moreWalked in at 9:30 Friday night there were 4 tables but no one was around. Eventually had to ring the bell to be seated. There are no drink prices on the menu which I know means they're shady... the server says she thinks the large margarita is $12.99 she returns and says a large frozen margarita is $15 ($18 with tip). I would have liked to try the Hibiscus but she'd have to go find out the price again, but when she came back and said $15, I laughed and said no, nevermind.
It took 20 min to get my to-go Quesabirria tacos (also not priced and double the price of any other tacos on the menu $13.90 after tax).
I wish I had cancelled the order but she was already walking away when I asked her to switch it to to-go and she said she hadn't entered it yet.
Huge mistake. I sit there snacking on chips and salsa. The salsa should have been a huge warning, it was flavorless and the only spice to it was in the aftertaste, it's completely lacking anything to round out the flavor.
Finally get the birria quesatacos and they're supposed to be crisp on the outside.... complete useless soggy corn mush.. The meat inside was so dry and chewy it was hardly passable. So insulting. Then to get hit with the surprise price tag.
I consider this COMPLETELY SHADY business practice to leave it to your servers (who also don't know the price) to inform customers of your outrageous prices.
I was able to make it to La Michoacanna 45min before closing and had a fresh steak quesadilla and a large frozen strawberry margarita fresh on the table in less than 10min and it cost less than a large margarita here...
I was trying to make it to the other restaurant for a margarita but as soon as they handed me the food I get in my car that's right outside the door and take a bite... it's awful!!! I didn't let it sit around and steam in the box expecting it to be perfect I had low, low expectations at this point, there was nothing crisp about the tacos, they were just wet, inedible mush.
I shouldn't have to buy 2 meals to get fed.... this garbage was so nasty it went straight in the trash, there wasn't even salvaging the meat. If I had more time I would have returned to the restaurant and demanded a refund as it was inedible. What a complete rip off.
You can see how soggy it is, the corn tortilla is stuck to the meat. The flavor was not there at all and just mostly like globs of wet corn tortilla.
So ridiculously dissapointed that I drove out of the way for this nonsense, save yourself the headache and the expense and go to La Michoacanna!
The best Mexican food is hallmarked by being fast, cheap, and really tasty - and helps if they're the slightest bit friendly.
This place didn't even have decent chips and salsa or a proper menu!
Oh and it's the end of May, their receipt is wishing guests a Happy...
Read moreFirst of all, tap an pay doesn't work so bring your card with you if you decide to buy food here. I tried the birria tacos and the ground beef taco salad. The birria comes with consume which was more of a flavorless soup but the taste of the tacos alone made up for the lack of flavor. They only give you about 3/4 cup of the consume which comes in more of a dipping sauce container than an actual bowl. The tacos tho?.. DEFINITE 10 out of 10! With the taco salad, I added diced onions, sour cream and cilantro because it only comes with the basics; lettuce, tomato, and cheese. For me, the taco salad gets about a 9 out of 10. Simply because yeah, I know it's a salad but the ground should've been a bit warm right? It was still good.. I just had to pop it in the microwave for a few seconds when I got home (I'm only about 4mins away). I WILL be eating here again. Those birria tacos were great! UPDATE Okay, so I decided to visit them again a few days ago on 10/13 and I found out the hard way that this is a hit or miss restaurant. Meaning they aren't consistently good. I've added more pictures as well to show the differences in the same food. My 2nd visit I ordered the birria tacos and the texas dip. I added pico and salsa into the dip so don't think that it'll look this way when you order it. As you can see in the added pics, there's NO cheese in the birria tacos. What you can't see is the tuff strips of steak in the texas dip. I say all of this to say that IF you're ordering "To go", don't be in a rush! Check your food before you leave the restaurant to assure that everything was...
