Yumi Japanese Steakhouse — Restaurant in Hampton

Please beware all families getting take out here I have dined here before in the past with no problems and got way more food for less it was very sad how they handled this situation but if you are on the go and you want to carry out for a family dinner expect way less these prices aren’t cheap to get take out for your family they shorted us small portions for our meals and we called them for the difference and they wouldn’t honor it or give a refund after we spent 178.00 in take out for our family and I always tip if I dined in or take out it looked like they took two meals and split it with six different plates I still had to cook that night after I ordered for my five kids which I was tired already but the food wasn’t enough for them or my husband I don’t even like to give bad reviews when I know they serve good food but this was absolutely ridiculous please if you eat here and order take out don’t allow this to happen to you but they wouldn’t honor a refund either after we ordered steak hibachi and two chicken hibachi adults plates and two kids chicken hibachi plates and a empires plate steak chicken and shrimp basically no steak or shrimp two soups and calamari sounds like a great deal and tipped but they basically made all the plates a kids plate is how it came out to be and it came out too fast tied up tightly at the top of each bag you would literally have to rip it open to check the food the bag that is they careless about there customers and taking advantage of hard working American dollars really crawled...

My first visit here and I am blown away. This gem sits in the heart of Hampton right on Main Street. I went on Mother’s Day weekend and figured it would be so crowded there would be an hour plus wait. Imagine my surprise to find the place empty. Walking in the door you see a well kept dining room very clean and nicely decorated. I thought if the food is half as good as this place looks I was in for a treat. Let me tell you it far exceeded my expectations. The staff was courteous and accommodating. They catered to our every desire and went far beyond regular service. The food was very well presented even coming out to the table with orchid garnish. Not only amazing to look at but the flavor was spot on. It’s crazy that this place didn’t have a long line outside waiting. We were treated with smiles and friendly prompt service for the entire meal. I cant remember when I have enjoyed a meal out on a holiday as much as I enjoyed this one. Usually I take several images of the food and I am truly sorry that I didn’t this time. I was so caught up in being treated like royalty I completely forgot until the meal was done. It was so good we ate every bit and in no time. Today i dined at Yumi, and it was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that set the tone for a delightful evening.

The food was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The portion sizes were generous, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out.

The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made excellent recommendations. The entire staff was friendly and made us feel welcome and well-cared for throughout our meal.
