I decided to take my kids to the splash pad today, May 28, 2024. And was told that it was $5 per child which was fine, but I did not know that they did not accept cards only cash. I noticed a few people entering the splash unchecked. When my children entered they immediately ask them to locate their parents. My daughter pointed me out and a guy openly questioned me about payment. I told him that I was going pay just need to locate my wallet that was deep in our bag. At that point I was irritated I paid and sat down under the pavilion because the are no area close enough inside the slash pad where anybody could avoid direct sunlight. So after sitting I decided to enter the slash pad and join my children and was approached again by another person to show proof that I paid. Now, that pissed me off! I told her that I was just speaking with my kids which she saw in the splash pad. I would never go back to this place again and I guess that was their goal because the amount of harassment I received today was ridiculous. We finally left at 3:30pm. I was so disappointed in how the staff treated me that day. If management is reading...
Read moreI've taken my grandson to this park many times, as I took my kids. The splash pad is a great addition and my grandson loves it, along with the playgrounds. The only issue I have is, I took him there Tuesday at opening time of 11am. The water wasn't on and after a little bit, I asked if they were going to open. The young lady at the concession stand said "we're open, just haven't turned the water on because no one is here". As I sat waiting, before I asked, there were several cars that drove through and left. I'm assuming they thought it was closed. When the water was finally turned on, it smelled like sewage. I thought maybe it was because it was just turned on. Thankfully that day, my little one was more interested in the playground, not the splash pad. We stayed for probably an hour and a half, on the slides and swings, and the water still had a disgusting smell. Several parents left immediately due to the odor. I hope it's something that's been fixed, because, it's a wonderful little water...
Read moreThis is just a great place to take the kids and let them play. I used to bring my children here when they were young, and now I bring my grandson here. He just loves it! There is also a splash pad, but you have to live in Hampton to play in that part. They have added to it over the years. Now they have a track around the park for walking. They also have added exercise equipment for seniors that are very easy to use. Of course anyone can use the equipment but it is designed for people over 50. There is also a pavilion for birthday parties, special events or just for general social gatherings. The park is right I front of the old Hampton Elementary school. It has free parking on either side of the park. The neighborhood is quiet. And the park is also a great place to go just by yourself for some peaceful...
